What travellers are saying
- AMD907Anchorage, AK153 contributionsThis is a great park to walk around in and there are good views of the city. It was a step climb up a lot of steps to get here but it was worth it. I enjoyed walking around in the park.Written August 10, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Craig HLowell, Massachusetts24 contributionsThe quality of the food makes all the rest just that much more special. The shops and other attractions make for a very pleasant walk, just steps from the waterfront as well as the edge of downtown.Written August 9, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AMD907Anchorage, AK153 contributionsWhat a Beautiful Building! It is worth the time and money to visit this beautiful building in Montreal.Written August 10, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jim KWest Chester, OH9 contributionsDefinitely worth a visit, although the extensive construction currently in progress makes it a bit less peaceful and picturesque. There is a shuttle that takes you from the street entrance on Queen Mary Rd up to the building entrance.
The history of Brother André and the Oratory is interesting, and the building is beautiful inside and out. The basilica may not exhibit the highly ornate, classical style of older cathedrals, but it has a modern beauty all its own.
Nice views of the city from the deck outside the basilica -- it might not be apparent from some photos, but you're pretty high up.Written July 10, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I wish the visitors guide had been available in English and there had been more options for lunch, but overall I’m glad we visited!Written August 12, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - dmvolleyYork, PA19 contributionsEnjoyable day. Wide variety of art - make sure you get to all of the various buildings! I've been to many different art museums and this one is definitely worth a visit.Written August 7, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Nikki FOxford26 contributionsWe headed in here largely because it had started to rain and it was free, not expecting much. But it was actually quite entertaining. There weren’t as many designs by actual fashion designers as their blurb would suggest, but there was still plenty to see and admire (and photograph!). Some of the older exhibits - notably those representing different nationalities - were a little stereotypical, but others were very imaginative.
And it’s in the middle of a small shopping complex which had some useful shops in too!!Written August 12, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Did find a spice shop, Epices de Cru that offered items easy to pack and take home.
IF one were shopping for a picnic supplies, it would be great.Written August 5, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was interesting and there were lots of artifacts. We had already walked around other parts of Montreal at this point so the history lesson tied it all together. Our children would have found this museum boring (they were not on this trip), although there was a cute section about pirates that seemed to be a hit with the young kids we saw. By the time we reached the Viking exhibit, we were tired out and didn’t spend too long there. But it was very well done.Written August 12, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- thetravellinggirl30Ottawa, Canada11 contributionsThis whole area is so walkable, I love the old European feel of this part of town. I felt safe walking in this town alone by myself as my hotel was in this area. I would love to visit this area again when I come back to MTL!Written August 3, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Chewiesmom2Buffalo, NY190 contributionsFun market to walk through. The fruits and veggies were huge. There are interesting little shops along the sides and a great food court area at the end- all fresh foods.Written August 5, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - dmvolleyYork, PA19 contributionsWith a little pre-planning, it was very easy to use the metro to get around. Clean & safe. We used it for 3 days to get around. Was much easier than taking our car out, so we left that parked at the hotel and took the metro.Written August 7, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - margaretgR6409NG4 contributionsWe ate at several places on Rue St-Paul and marveled at the indigenous shops with native arts. Very enjoyable place to stroll along.Written July 2, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- sharrongegHenderson, NV2,789 contributionsIncluded in the Montreal Pass, we were very happy with our (3 rotations) ride this morning. Each pod seats 8 but they were just putting one couple (or family) ) in each pod. Great A/C too!
Views this morning were incredible.Written August 6, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. In the heart of a bustling city, stop in for a few moments of peace and quiet. The architecture is wonderful, the grounds are well kept.
Take a few minutes and walk around the outside of the cathedral: understand just how well constructed it is.
A favourite for this Canadian.Written July 16, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
