- gallonsMontreal, Canada32 contributionsBest place to go see stand-up in Montreal. These are not amateurs. They are all preselected and must pass an interview. Most of the best comedians come here to run through their routines pre-gala or pre festival. You never know who will show up. Definitely a cheap way to see some of Quebec's best comedians up close.
Service is great. The waiters are always kneeling or bending to make sure you can always see the show. American style comedy club. Call early to reserve your tickets because they sell out real fast.
I have been at least three times and never been disappointed.Written June 6, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The vibe was comfortable and fun. The comedy show had a few uhm,.... folks who were trying but not really *connecting* with the audience. The headliner was really good and we had some fun banter with him being the only "Americans" in the room. I'd totally go again and support the show. This is a hard business and though a couple of the comics are probably not going to be able to quit their day jobs, they had the chutzpah to get up there and give it a go! Props. And hey, if you don't like it, go get another round and hit up the foosball or pool table.Written July 14, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lori AStillwater, OK54 contributionsThis was such fun! We just happened to be in Montreal when this was happening. We got SOOO lucky. The shows were very entertaining and the food was fantastic. My only wish was to be able to eat at all the wonderful stands!!Written July 29, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - sarah hShropshire, UK53 contributionsWent to see headline act Ron Joson, who was very funny. Had a a superb compere and supporting acts. Small intimate venue, you will be engaged with, so no shy types! Traditional stand-up, but quite risque. Great night, only gripe - no rosé!Written October 27, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Dave_Kukelko34 contributionsIn montreal for a couple of days after a week skiing at Tremblant. Hockey fans, so seeing the nostalgic items from the forum fun.
Our expectations were in line with the ticket costs. No big headliner, but an MC and several acts who had us all laughing,
A small intimate venue all circling the stage.
Drinks reasonably priced, great vibe, everything on time.Written February 23, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This theater offers various plays that have been successful in Europe: "10 ans de mariage”, “Les hommes viennent de mars, les femmes de vénus", "Le clan des divorcées", etc. In addition, one of the big advantages is that it is located only a few steps from Metro Berri UQAM.
The Comédie de Montréal always has something new to offer throughout the year; one of the newest shows is "Couscous au bacon". It is a comedy about a couple with different cultures that would like to get married. The scenario includes plenty of sensitive topics but with a touch of humor. Jamin Chtouki and Carole Thomas are very good in the roles. Be sure to see it!Written November 12, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The comedy club is located in Peroni's restaurant. My wife said her Calamari was excellent as was the Ribs, which were so large, Fred Flintstone would have liked them. My Salmon was generous but bland. The show was very good with only one of the five comics not being professional in caliber but the other four being quite funny. The MC was an excellent host and funny too. The room is intimate and had a good atmosphere. We intend to return.Written February 22, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
