Impressive collection..visiting when touring the old harbor we loved a sculpture of a Candian artist Jean Louis Emond.
After reaching home we decided to have it in our home..Lyne the director and owner treat us very professionally, she took care of the shipment and we got it in 4 days @ our home.
Thank you Lyne we will be back in one of our visits to Canada.

We popped in here one afternoon when we had some time between other activities & dinner. I found it quite interesting, more so than I expected. It's in 2 different buildings, so don't miss that. The Yoko Ono exhibit was there when we visited, & I thought it was exceptional, very thought-provling.

This place is directly above Ben & Jerry's. It showcases contemporary paintings by diverse indigenous artists from around Canada, as well as Inuit soapstone sculptures, beaded leather handicrafts, and giant dreamcatchers. Their gift shop section has a small but nicely curated selection of high quality souvenirs made by Indigenous-owned businesses, like handmade soap, beautiful beaded earrings, local fruit preserves, and ethically harvested sage bundles and sweetgrass.

Was a bit intimidated by the gigantic pieces displayed and the price tags. But after a bit of meandering in this store packed to the brim with art, we found a piece we really loved that was within our budget. It was a bonus that it turned to be by a pretty popular artist too.

I thought the pricing was very fair. I do wish they'd mentioned that shipping cost would be much less than paying tax!

Regardless, am very happy with our purchase.

With the sheer selection, I am certain there is something for everyone here. Check their store downstairs too for smaller pieces and scrumptious ponchos and hats.

Owner/ Curator Corinne Asseraf welcomes you to her Galerie 203 as though you’ve been friends forever. You’re welcome to browse and enjoy the artwork, knowing that she’s on hand to answer any questions you might have. She’s a true ambassador for Montreal and her love of art and the city will impress you.

I was showing my parents around the city and we walked into a couple of galleries in Old Port. This gallery particularly stood out to me. There are very original and beautiful pieces that paly with different moods, techniques, and mediums.

Spread over two floors in this gallery was the relatively unchallenging art of a trio of septuagenarian Frenchmen. Landscapes, street scenes, flowers, all very pleasant and undemanding. Perhaps the only modernistic aspect of these paintings was the way paint on some works had been plastered on using a palette knife. One of the artists in question was in residence upstairs. Those of his friends too frail to mount the stairs to see him could Instead see a video of him downstairs.

We loved this gallery. From the second you come in, it exudes warmth. His work is so open and loving. I couldn't say enough about it. I couldn't imagine walking in this gallery and being any way but happy to be there. Thanks Peter for the AMAZING work you do.

Artwork was really beautiful, with a huge array of sculptures and furs. Unfortunately, staff follows u around, which is really offensive and irritating.

I was on business and decided to stop in and see the famous "OLD PORT"

I was dressed casual on my day off and was made to feel like I was invisible.
If you don't look like you bleed money avoid this place and if you do you will be followed around like a shadow.

Not my favorite selection of art either. There are way better galleries in the area as Montreal does have some fantastic artists. This gallery however is to be avoided in my opinion.

I was keen to buy a new shearling this winter, and my Parisian neighbor in Boston insists that the finest "cut" of her fur coats came from Montreal. Since Montreal is known for its furs, I googled the options and visited three stores. Dubarry Furs was my definite favorite. The store has been in the family for two or three generations, and the couple who are the current owners could not have been more helpful. Although I usually choose basic black, this time I found a perfect blue shearling -- although I have never been a blue person -- that has that special je-ne-sais-quoi. I also bought a beautiful rabbit hood which functions as hat and scarf and a delightfully whimsical rabbit hat with just a touch of fox, as thought the rabbit had swallowed most of the fox. 🥰
