What travellers are saying
- Parrot434Vernon Hills, IL302 contributionsA gorgeous, expansive public park in the middle of Montreal with many walking trails to enjoy the trees and grassy areas. The park has lakes, boat rentals and other attractions. It reminds me of Stanley Park in Vancouver. Very popular with residents and McGill University students. A great place to chill and get one with nature.Written October 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Juan Pablo ISt. John's, Canada51 contributionsAlthough I visited the Botanical Garden by the end of fall -when most of the trees are almost done shedding their leaves and the flowering plants are not flowering anymore, I was overwhelmed by the amount of beautiful trees, plants, shrubs and other floral organisms, plus the constructions providing different environments (e.g. Chinese garden, Japanese garden, rose garden etc.) are just ideally designed for an immersive experience. I didn't cover the whole place on my visit though, because it's huge.Written November 29, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Heddy GMalvern, PA606 contributionsLovely to walk around and take in all the sights. We took pics of the Ferris wheel but it is gigantic and we chose to admire it from afar.Written January 1, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Michael D7 contributionsPart of the Botanical Gardens and stunning. The entire Garden is beautiful (very large in size) and each area represents a different region of the world.Written June 5, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MMC_LadyLondon, UK157 contributionsSpent five days in Montreal, and on my last day before taking my flight home, I visited Parc Jean—Drapeau, It was easy to get to travelling by train. As soon as out of the station that you see the iconic biosphere - this geodesic dome fits in well with nature. It is a museum about the environment. Lush green and vast. I did not spend as long as I would have like to but it is worth a visit.Written February 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Daphne RBrighton, Canada68 contributionsGreat museum and very informative. Lots of reading. The wood room is beautiful. Only negative was the printing on info cards was very small and lighting on them poor- I had to use cell phone light to see. The basement is still being put together but a few interesting things to see- like the dog powered system. Worth going. Not for kids.Written February 4, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- IAN DWigan, UK26,786 contributionsI only walked a small area but it was a nice experience from the old port toward Atwater market. The Lachine Canal is an iconic gem located in the southwest of Montreal. Its 13.5 kilometer track between the Old Port and Lake Saint-Louis, its waterway, its green urban park, its industrial remains and its riverside activities make this site an experience to share.Written May 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Thomas VOakland, CA19,537 contributionsA really lovely park that does not require you to trudge up a steep hill. It is a major park for the city and much used. Located in the middle of crowded residential areas.Written November 5, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - sanju_222323New Jersey17,974 contributionsTo admire some of Montreal’s most distinctive architecture, head up to Square Saint-Louis and stroll northwest from there to Avenue du Mont-Royal. Near the Sherbrooke Metro Station, Square Saint-Louis rates as one of Montréal's prettiest old squares and is set in a turn-of-the-century French-Canadian residential quarter.
Alamo Square Park SFO- if you know you know. it’s just like that. but this park has only this building and Henri Julien Ave - some more colorful French-Canadian residential buildings. In the little streets around the tree-shaded square, there are still a few attractive Victorian houses. Some now house pleasant restaurants.
Rue St. Denis is one of the hippest shopping, arts, and dining streets in Montréal. Historic buildings have been converted into boutiques, bistros, and cafés.Written December 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There are some beautiful trails to do some long walks and do some exercise. There is also some great spots for photos. You will enjoy a visit for sure.Written January 13, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- sanju_222323New Jersey17,974 contributionsyup, one can wonder about the beach in Montreal, but there is a beach in Montréal, especially in the Old Port! Just five minutes from downtown, the Clock Tower Beach, on the same name's quay, offers sun, sand, and a unique holiday atmosphere.
but there is a bummer- swimming isn’t allowed, but refreshing mist stations set up along the beach take the edge off the summer heat.
The urban beach—with views of the St. Lawrence River, the Jacques-Cartier Bridge, Île Sainte-Hélène, and Old Montréal—can accommodate up to 800 people.Written September 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There were not a lot of people, they had a live DJ and the beach was nice and clean. The facilities were pretty clean too. We had a lovely time and would recommend visiting :)Written July 17, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tom OShenandoah Valley73 contributionsNice park. We visited on a snowy day in March. The trails are well groomed, and marked clearly which ones are from skiers, showshoes and walkers.
Parking was unexpected fee $7.75 for 2 hours and $9.75 for all day. Easy to pay with credit card. Easier just to pay for all day.Written March 26, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
