We came here with our two teenagers after riding on the formula one racetrack. We saw the wibits from the road and the kids were excited.
Once we paid to enter (about $20 for the daily) we learned they were closing in 45 minutes. I'm surprised no one told us this when we bought the entry tickets. Also, the wibits had an extra fee.
However, the kids enjoyed swimming in the lake and it was a good way to end the night.
If I came back, I might bring a raft or beach toys, but this was a spur of the moment stop.
The bathrooms were not very clean at the end of the day, but probably what you'd expect with so many people here.
Lots of people packed food, or you could get food from food trucks. We didn't do either.
Note, you also have to pay to park, $7/hr, $14/2hrs, and$20/day.

yup, one can wonder about the beach in Montreal, but there is a beach in Montréal, especially in the Old Port! Just five minutes from downtown, the Clock Tower Beach, on the same name's quay, offers sun, sand, and a unique holiday atmosphere.
but there is a bummer- swimming isn’t allowed, but refreshing mist stations set up along the beach take the edge off the summer heat.

The urban beach—with views of the St. Lawrence River, the Jacques-Cartier Bridge, Île Sainte-Hélène, and Old Montréal—can accommodate up to 800 people.

Amazingly diverse cross section of Montrealers of all ages and persuasion. Theme musical nights, cocktails and beer. Great views and people watching, friendly staff all in a beach atmosphere.Truly unique in this city and a friendly vibe. FYI pet friendly so you will see well behaved dogs, cats and Unidentified creatures.
