It's an attractive upscale neighborhood, developed in the early 20th Century. So the buildings have some old charm. There is a shopping district here as well with bagels.

Nice place to walk around. People are friendly. there is a food market and plenty of bakeries with Italian sweets. And, of course, there is always Pizza. An oddity is a church with a mural including Mussolini on its roof.

Great shopping for Men, Women and Kids and typical dishes. Full of trendy restaurants in Outremont, a must visit when in Montreal.

When you pass this theatre on the outside you have no idea what a gem awaits inside. This is a theatre from the 1920s lovingly restored. The ceilings are amazing as are the painted walls. There was a Jive Festival when we visited.

This exhibit was exceptional if only because it made an otherwise banal interior staircase (that people have to use frequently) a space that stirs the imagination. Great work!

A wonderful treasure trove to explore! It's a small store that is packed to the brim with beautiful things for your home at Great prices. The owner is incredibly nice and funny. He knows something about every object in the store. Go! My only regret was that I didn't have my car so I could have purchased more.

Cool taproom that features in my ‘Beers of the World’ book, so I had to visit when in Montreal. About 15 beers on tap, covering a great range of styles. There’s a kitchen that does snacks but I just stuck to the beer. Really friendly and knowledgeable barman on duty who was happy to offer patrons advice on what to try.

Superb architecture and definitely different design than many of the other cathedrals/churches in the area of Montreal. If you are in the area it is worth passing by to observe the architecture/ structure. Unfortunately, the church is not typically kept open, unless on days off worship.

ESPACE NOMAD is my favorite spa. Not only is the atmosphere tranquil and soothing, but the products used during the treatments (massages or facials) are of very high quality, natural and smell wonderful. My experience with the massage therapy has been positive, and my favorite massage is the LOMILOMI (a massage that is not offered in many spas). The juice bar available is an extra touch that adds a glossy detail to the range of treatments. I highly recommend it!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fran was a fantastic guide around Mile End. She was extremely knowledgeable of the area and we were introduced to so many of Montreal’s food treasures! This tour was a true pleasure and I would highly recommend.

This is a great place if you like pottery, want authentic souvenirs of your visit, appreciate fine craftsmanship, like your coffee out of an earthenware mug... It was opened about 20 years ago by a local potter and features functional work by about 30 Quebec ceramists, mostly Montrealers. You can find really interesting little items (razor holders!), wonderful mugs of all types, and also lots of cookware type things, like muffin moulds, dutch ovens, pie plates, etc. Also a ceramic version of the beer can for beer can chicken (great for the man on your list).
