This is truly a gem that everyone should visit. It is a lovely way to spend a few hours. The grounds and gardens are just gorgeous. Great place to just sit or have a picnic.

This is a must for anyone who has an interest in history of old prisons. The tour was really interesting and entertaining. Also learned some interesting information about Morris College and early women at the school. Highly recommend

Walk around the ramparts and stop for great pictures. The old town is the only city in North America that is fortified. It’s not a specific place but the entire city that is surround by fortified walls.

the gare is clean and has a few places to eat, but needs a good coffee shop or bakery for morning travellers. was difficult to catch a cab at the front. you will need to get the cab at the side of the building where the buses arrive. follow the signs for taxis

The park includes the Plains of Abraham and Martello Tower 1 plus the within walking distance site of Ste-Foy, the 1760 victory that gave the French hope of retaking Quebec. The Plains of Abraham is an almost lime green green space, operated by the National Battlefields Commission. I tripped across where General Wolfe received his mortal wound. Locals were jogging or catching up with old friends on the meandering roads. Many interesting attractions border it, including the Plains of Abraham Museum, the Citadel and the Joan of Arc Garden.

This wonderful historical site is part of the Fortifications of Quebec. It houses an interesting museum with lots of pictures and a model of Quebec city of old. You get a true picture of what happened militarily to Quebec in the 1800 & 1900's.

Important embattlements that are part of the citadelle complex and the fortifications. Up on the hill overlooking the river. Large and impressive.

Incredibly friendly and fun guide. Lovely to see an old house still standing in an area where all the homes are now businesses or private houses or have been replaced by a new apartment building. Small, interesting home, extremely well kept. Worth the ticket. Tours are given in French and English. The first one to buy a ticket picks the language. We were very lucky, since we don’t speak French, but we’re the only native English speaking people in the (English tour). Thank you to the other six people who were willing to do the tour in English. We did a few other tours, but this cozy little home with the kindest tour guide was my favorite.

The largest of the three western gates, it is the most northerly. It was from where the Chemin du Roy started in 1734. Parc de l’Artillerie is to the north.

A nice area with a big swing for picture taking, Frontenac built La Batterie Royale in response to invasion threats of New England [dastardly Americans!]. At the time the area was called Pointe-aux-Roches. The cannons on display are not original but reproductions sent from France. It is located in the Lower Town near the water.

This hidden gem is a wonderfully quiet place to visit. A pristine chapel with simple but beautiful architecture. The resting place of Francois de Laval. On the grounds of the Quebec Seminary. You can still hear the boisterous noise of the boys from yesteryear.
