Absolutely fascinating! Wander along the cobblestone streets and take in some window shopping- or if you want, buy beautiful gifts and artwork. Amazing photo opportunities with the Chateau Frontenac imposing up ahead. Absolutely stunning! To save your legs, catch the furnicular up to the top ($5 cash only)

Such a beautiful area to visit! The funicular lines were long so we walked up to the castle from here.
The small shops were excellent- try the fudge shop 🥰

A great experience from start to finish.
Parked at the foot of the falls and took cable car to the top, then walked over the bridge and back down the steep steps on the other side.
Saw two guys fishing in the shallow water beneath the falls, thought they were walking on water!
Kiosk at the top was closed, probably because of the mandatory 2 hour lunch …
Falls not that dramatic but high so a fun couple of hours.

A great place to relax in the sun or in the shade with great views over the water and the Lower town. You can take the funicular from here (right near the statue, located in the glass house) to reach the Lower town, or you can wall all the way to the Citadel (the entrance is on the opposite site though, if you want to visit it). Lots of information about the origins of the terrace and several musicians to entertain you.

A very romantic place, if you like history and it reminds me of so many historic European cities.

To one side, there are several hotels, some older than others, with probably bird eye view over this whole location.

To reach the lower town you either take the funicular from the Dufferin terrace for 5 CAD one way/per person (the entrance is located inside the glass square houses right near the statue - don't forget to press on the door to access this area) with the capacity of the funicular of max 6-8 people and going every minute, reaching the old town in 1 minute.

The other option is to walk all the way here, if you have the energy, and immerse yourself in more touristic attractions with lots of over prices cake shops/ice cream shops/nougaterie or restaurants and fashion shops far detached from the French or European fashion though.

Cobbled streets located near the water, the ferry not far from here, a gorgeous piazza with people watching as in the style you find in most of Med countries, if you are fortunate to be here on a sunny day.

Place Royale specifically is a square with cobbled streets located just off the small road that leads to the funicular, if you want to go to the Upper town: funicular costs 5 CAD one way per person.

This square is full of history, romantic, no wonder is packed with people in the several restaurants in this area, if you come here on a warm day.

    Just gorgeous

I love Quebec City! Short flight to experience French cuisine, cobble stone stone streets in one of the oldest cities in North America. And, these French speakers are actually Friendly! Let me not forget to mention the great exchange rate for our dollar.

The Plains Of Abraham is an important historical area. This is a battlefields park, quite large in size. Its history goes a long way back to the early days of Canada's beginnings. There are museums and many activities that take place here. It is definitely worth visiting and learning so much about the country's French and British past.

We love being on the water so couldn’t resist the short ferry across the river to Levis.
Very efficient all round and strangely quiet on a sunny Sunday morning.
Sat out on the deck for both crossings.
Not a great deal new to see apart from the Quebec skyline and that lovely hotel …

The promenade takes you from Dufferin terrace all the way to the back of the Citadel. It is a long walk, so make sure you have comfortable shoes. I liked that is full of wildlife: we saw many birds, squirrels and even a small snake.

Well maintained, is bears the name of the 'gouverneurs' who used to have their walk here.

Great views over the water and Lower town in the distance.

Quebec is the only walled city in Canada. There are extensive fortifications around the city and it is quite an experience walking around them. There is much evidence of Canada's history and culture all around.

Wonderful place to walk. We hiked down and enjoyed the sunset here. Wasn't crowded at all and had a nice evening.

We had so much fun riding the slide. Couldn't believe how fast it was. It was over too quickly! Enjoyed a hot cocoa after our slide.

The Old Port is a picturesque part of Quebec. It is a really lovely area in which to take a stroll and just enjoy yourself. There are all types of shops, from restaurants and bars to gift shops and everything else you would wish for. And there is the river and the boats and the beautiful scenery. You wouldn't want to miss it.

When we first read about the "Breakneck Steps" we were a bit concerned about how we would tackle this particular problem.... However when we actually got there it was a relief to discover it is all a bit of a myth, more likely a tourist attraction! The steps are not really that steep and not that many. It's quite easy going down or up. Going down the steps is the way to the Lower Town, the older Quebec. A very beautiful part of the city and very picturesque. Not to be missed!
