- Dennis DSaskatoon, Canada7 contributionsThis review is only about the BOOMTOWN CAFE. Four of us went there for lunch last week and we all enjoyed our meals; the portions were ample and the prices reasonable. The stickler was having to wait at the entrance and not being acknowledged for a good ten minutes even though there were empty tables and enough staff around. Management slipped up on training the staff to at least let waiting people know that you are aware they are there. Also, the low roof means voices seem loud even though they are not - but that is a structural issue.Written July 5, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ems_jlsMarlboro, NJ118 contributionsAlways like to see what colleges and universities look like, even if on a late June afternoon the buildings are closed and there is almost no one around and you don't have much time anyway. The central quadrangle is impressive, especially the Nobel Plaza end with its plaques and the original College Building and the "U OF S" flowers.Written September 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ed NDelta, Canada1,856 contributionsWe visited this museum Sunday Afternoon and found the series of exhibits to be very interesting and engaging. It was a shame the small Bison herd was so far away from the viewing area. I am glad such great efforts have been taken to preserve the Bison in this part of Saskatchewan. Be ready for a very meaningful cultural experience of the indigenous people of this region. A bit out of the way, but recommended.Written August 18, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Michelle HSpruce Grove, Canada177 contributionsWorth the trip. The zoo had your typical plains animals. A few from Australia, Dingos being one I had not seen before and some African.
They have a train ride that you can take to get a general idea of the layout before you walk around. I would recommend doing both. The grounds of the zoo are beautiful for walking and if the weather had been cooler I think we would have seen more of the animals. Maybe try going later in the day.
I have seen a lot of zoos and this one is OK for a smaller city zoo. I did see a white bison which I had never seen before. (Actually it is more blond)
We ate at the cafe too. Food was good but could have used some healthier choices.
My only negative was that they don't want any outside food or drink so we had to leave our water bottles behind and buy bottled water. May I suggest allowing water bottles and let the people fill them at the many watering stations around the zoo.
The zoo is also surrounded by a park with walking trails. This would be worth a look too.
You do pay to park within this park and there is an admission fee for the zoo.Written July 13, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - tinaNtravelSan Jose, CA1,883 contributionsThis is a beautiful, long walk along the main river in Saskatoon. You can walk as far and as long as you like and you see a lot of beautiful changing scenery. I went for a few walks along the river, and enjoyed them all.Written August 24, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Analee ESaskatoon, Canada20 contributionsWe haven’t been to this place ever since we came here in Saskatoon in 2009. The place were really great, beautiful flowers in the farm especially the gladiolus and the SunFlower. Most importantly the people in the store are very nice, friendly and accommodating. We recommended this place! We definitely love to come for some events❤️Written September 6, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SchumacherJackTimmins, Canada574 contributionsThis is where to go in Saskatchewan to experience a huge variety of produce, crafts and people watch, all at the same time. So much local flavour in the truest sense. Plan to spend at least 2 hours here.Written November 4, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BDJSaskatoon, Canada41 contributionsThis "little" brewery is packed full of great stuff - location, ambience, friendly staff, relaxed environment and always a variety of great beer. I am yet to try the food but my wife and I are going to be checking that box very soon. I can't say enough good things about this place. Oh ya, neat merchandise as well.Written November 10, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Viktoriya KSaskatoon, Canada387 contributionsOne of the two left city « old fashioned » movie theaters, the other one is Roxy Theater with unique experience and program. Often features Canadian movies, local artists and shows. There is also a Calories restaurant next to it for a perfect date night or just to get the true Broadway Ave vibe of Old Nutana district of Saskatoon.Written December 14, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
