- We had heard lots of good things about Pinel Island so we decided to take a look for ourselves. We rode the ferry over and got settled on Yellow beach with a couple of chairs and an umbrella ($25). We were able to get front row chairs and the servers on the beach were very attentive.
We did hike to the peak (66' tall) and were able to get a good view of the entire island and some neighboring islands. We also took a couple of bananas with us to feed the Iguanas. The Iguanas all came out of hiding when they saw the bananas. They not only eat the banana, they also love the banana skins. There are several vegetables and fruits that are toxic to Iguanas, so be sure to research that before taking some to the island for them to eat. It seems that bananas are one of their favorites.
We had lunch at the Yellow Beach bar and restaurant. My wife and I split the daily special pizza with Escargot (yes, Snails) and it was delicious. Thin crust and just the right size for 2 people to share. We also enjoyed a bottle of Rose with our pizza.
If you plan to visit Pinel Island, you should plan on spending nearly $100 for the day. That includes $12/pp for the roundtrip ferry ride, $25 for 2 chairs and an umbrella, and then drinks and lunch. Not a cheap day trip, but good for a change of pace.Written December 1, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AMAZING DAY AT LOTERIE FARM.
We started off early with the hike up to Pic Paradis and enjoyed the breathtaking views of Saint Martin and Sint Marteen. We then enjoyed a day at one of the cabanas. The service was excellent and very professional. Rodger was extremely helpful. The jungle pool was clean and fresh, the food was super tasty and the staff made sure we were looked after.
The guests were well behaved and the mood was friendly and relaxed.

- We've been coming to St. Maarten for many years and just a few years ago we visited Parotte Ville and now we make it a point to visit the Sanctuary every time we are on the Island.
George and his team do an excellent job of obtaining and, in many cases rehabilitating, birds from around the world. A visit to Parotte Ville is an experience that every visitor will remember. It's a special place that will amaze you.
Highly recommend a visit!Written December 4, 2022
