I visited here as a child a very long time ago I was working in the area and knew I wanted to visit again I'm glad I did I remember bits of it from all them years ago but it's improved so much now for visitors and is a very special and spiritual place and you come away feeling very peaceful I popped into the shrine shop on the way back to the carpark and it is very affordable for great quality items I'll definitely come back again it's so lovely

Walsingham Abbey is a very important English Christian site. Sadly, it was dissolved by King Henry VIII and mostly demolished. The remains are well looked after and worth a visit, but a little expensive for what you see. Nevertheless I would recommend it for history buffs. Teenage kids expecting a theme park experience would be bored.

Lovely little shop in a building with really interesting history. Owner is very knowledgeable about the area and building and very friendly and helpful. It is a true antiques shop with treasures from lots of different time periods and I think better than a museum because you get to be so close to them!

If you are going to the Catholic Shrine then this is your place. You may end up at the Catholic Church of the Annunciation, Walsingham Abbey, Shrine of our Lady of Walsingham, the Russian Orthodox Church or many other religious attractions - but these are all in Little Walsingham! The Catholic Shrine is about a mile outside Little Walsingham near Great Walsingham. The idea being that you park in Little Walsingham and the walk on pilgrimage to the Catholic Shrine through beautiful and peaceful countryside. The shrine is a perfect place for contemplation with a mixture of ancient and modern building looked after by priests and nuns. There is a religious shop and a small cafe. But it is really a place for prayer and worth a visit even if you are not a catholic or religious. Little Walsingham also looked a quaint village but I suspect it gets crowded in the summer. I shall visit next time I am in the area.

We visited the railway garden which is to the side of the church on a sunny afternoon in April. It was very cold that day but I can imagine this is a gorgeous place to linger on a hot summer's day. The church is very beautiful and contains several icons. They also sell small prayer cards and postcards. Anyone interested in iconography would find this a fascinating place. Entry is free and there is a prayerful atmosphere in this converted station house. You will not come across many former station buildings that have been converted into an Orthodox church, so this is definitely a place to visit.

I had driven past this tiny Chapel many times and thought it was probably a Methodist or Baptist chapel, until one day I came along the road opposite having driven through the ford.
I was able to read the sign which indicates that the Church is dedicated to the Orthodox wing of Christianity. I went inside, (one of the nicest things about Norfolk churches is that they are invariably open during the day, providing a vast range of places for quiet reflection and prayer), this tiny church is wonderful.
The Church of the Holy Transfiguration is even more beautiful inside than it is outside. It is incredible that in a tiny parish like the Walsinghams, so branches of Christianity seem to be represented and furthermore, the churches are active and well loved. Do include this gem on your list when you visit this most holy and beautiful of places. Enjoy the photos.

A really ancient building where transgressors were brought to face justice. You can place yourself in the dock and then dash to the judges chair and decide you own fate.

Situated right in the center in a very attractive square. It is well supplied with plenty of informative literature. The staff were most helpful. From here it is easy to reach any part of the town or further afield. Get your information leaflets and then relax in any of the nearby hostelries to relax and peruse the details!

First time riding for many years and first time ever for my daughter, we were welcomed by the very friendly and informative instructor, who put us both at ease straight away.
On relaxed friendly horses we enjoyed half an hour of riding within the school before half an hour riding a loop around the beautiful Walsingham.
We have booked a second visit and would definitely recommend to others
