Excellent value for money. We would certainly go again. Little bit remote, but the restaurant at the Lodge had excellent food.

I got there at 6:30, the office opens at 7 but Nosipho was very helpful and explained what was available as far as activities and walks go.
I did the 5km trail which was really nice (best to be done early in summer as it gets very hot)
I took my own water and snacks as advised by other reviewers.
I only got a few photos of birds and my advice is to try arrange a guide to spot and identify, that would make the walk a lot better. I’ll definitely go back.

The monument was established in 2004, during the apartheid time, all correspondence & literature generated by Chief Albert Luthuli were banned, confiscated, the only surviving artefact on site was the physical home of Chief Albert Luthuli.
