Such a fun experience. There were tons of iguanas on the dock and even some seals lying out. Bring a snorkel and hop in to see fish, reef sharks, rays, and seals. Some seals were hanging out in the water and played around with us for a while. Just know, the water is COLD. I think it also has to do with time of year and I’m the kind of person that gets cold really easily in water, so just keep that in mind. Bring a towel and rash guard or wetsuit if you have one and want to be in for a while. I went in for 15-20 minutes and saw some stuff, but some people in my family weren’t feeling too cold and stayed in for 45 mins or so and saw more by the trees.

The visit to Las Tintorerars was one of the highlights of my Galapagos trip. It began with a boat ride out to the reef and lava tunnels where we saw a penguin roosting. Then we did snorkeling around the reef. While I only saw one shark and no sea turtles, there were more tropical fish here than in Los Tuneles or on Floreana Island. The highlight was the white-tipped lava fields that we walked through, observing sharks resting in the channel beside the field, baby iguanas and crabs and friendly sea lions. On the way back we saw blue-footed boobies and a bunch of penguins on the rocks. Between the varied animals and the cool lava formations, this was a terrific place.

We cycled here from Puerto Villamil, it took about an hour (maybe a little less) at a steady pace, which was comfortable for our eleven year old son. It's a nice ride with a few giant tortoises on the way, and some of the ride was a more difficult because of the sand.

The Wall itself was thought provoking and its location helped to show just how futile it was.

This is a really amazing place! It was so interesting to see the various tortoises and the efforts that the Galapagos National Park system has done to preserve and protect these awesome animals. If you are in the Galapagos, you really shouldn't miss this. There is a small museum inside the building as well.

I visited the Wetlands Complex to see the most famous part of it - the Wall of Tears at the end of the Complex. But I discovered that there were several other points of interest to this delightfully uncrowded park. The Wetlands consists of a main road with several spur trails, many of them very short. It's about 4 miles from Puerto Villamil to the Wall of Tears. Bicycle is a good way to get here, but it's a challenging short ride through sand and then steeply uphill on uneven roads. There were multiple giant tortoises traversing the road, too. The Wall itself is an interesting memorial and there is another steep climb to an overlook offering panoramic views of the Island. The stops along the way include a lava tunnel and a mangrove swamp leading to a "hidden" beach. There were very few people in the Wetlands to the extent that I could have had sections of the beach entirely to myself.

The beach is about four km long of soft, white sand. Off the beach are a few lagoons with different birds. There are many marine iguanas wandering or swimming around. In town, there are restaurants where you can watch the waves or the sunset.

if you feel fit and sporty, do this on a bicycle from Puerto Villamil and combine it with muro de lagrimas tour. (45km in total). The cave itself is OK. The interesting part however is that you can experience total darkness, occasionally interrupted only by the sound of the water drops. After relaxing your eyes for a couple of minutes without exposing them to any sensory stimulae you will, ironically, realise, that your best friend and saviour from the darkness is, well, your smartphone, giving you the light necessary to find the way out.

This is a deeper water snorkel. Only 6 people. One boat. Best tour we did on Isabela and we did all the typical ones advertised everywhere.

We visited Zaroa in a hot afternoon and tasted several of their refreshing and unusual beers. Owner Alan uses local Galapagos natural products to make his beers, including a slightly fruity guava beer, a more vibrant one with lemon grass and another with carob. His other ingredients are all high end, such as hops from Germany. We sat in his charming outdoor seating area where each table had a game to play, including Jenga, the wood block stack and eliminate game
For a delightful break on Isabela Island, this is the place to go

We took the path from our hotel and walked to the breeding center. It was maybe a 15 minute or so walk, all flat and very clear where to go. We saw a number of flamingos and marine iguanas. There were not many other people on the path, making it a very peaceful walk. There are a few signs over the course of the walk sharing what some of the trees are. We did not take a tour guide and are happy with that decision.

Reallu attractive church inside and out. Door is open and it's free. Unique touches include a nice mural on the outside and a tin roof.

Our guide took us down this boardwalk. There were a lot of flamingoes, also close enough to get some real good shots.
