I had been to Vancouver many years before but not visited the Capilano Bridge so I made sure to see it this time during Christmas! I'd seen many photos and how lovely it is all lit up at night. Now a senior, I am not very good at walking so I made enquiries with the park directly by email regarding the safety in Winter and was assured quite safe but to wear suitable footwear as some places may be slippery or icey. Rather than doing an all day tour of Vancouver, I researched options to get to the park on my own and found a 'free shuttle' which left both Canada Place and The Hyatt Regency hotel just 3mins walk from where I was staying. The shuttle runs approx every 15-30mins. My hotel gave me a CAD$5 park discount voucher and an umbrella (just in case). I picked up the bus no problem about 3pm when the rain came down! Luckily, the park is open rain or shine. The bus took approx 30mins, and going through the gate I was quite taken aback at the cost CAD$75 but there is no other option, the ticket includes the bridge and nine other attractions whether you engage or not. I was also unable to use the discount voucher as I opted for the senior rate which was already discounted and I couldnt do both. Great for families and those who plan to be at the park all day and all night but not if you just want to see the bridge. I did sit down at the cafe and browsed the gift shop and the lights certainly didnt disappoint, I only walked half way on the bridge to get some photos and was in the park less than an hour in all, so ridiculously expensive for me. The walk to the bridge was quite easy and the park seemed pretty quiet, however, the queue for the return shuttle was a mile long! Not sure where all these people were hiding, but seems they all wanted to leave at the same time as me! I'm glad I went but be aware when travelling solo, if you don't intend exploring the whole park for hours on your own, it's an expensive visit.

Used our transport day pass to get the metro, waterbus and bus to the canyon. Long walk from the bus stop. Scary suspension bridge, but lovely walks through the woods. Many people in the pools in the river. As a free visit, it was certainly worth it. The cafe was another example of places in Canada which do not take cash. Why should foreign visitors have to pay exchange rates and credit card fees on top of the cost of the items?

We went with our two young teenage sons on a very cloudy Sunday. Even at lunch time the cloud was still hanging in the air and blocking the visibility from the top. But we had a brilliant time.

Enjoyed seeing the bears, the raptor show and the lumberjacks of course.

We booked the Adventure Ropes course once up the mountain- be aware that if you do this, the time available is likely to be later in the day - so you’ll need to be happy to wait. Our boys were, so no problem - we enjoyed some lunch and braving the chair lift to the top in the clouds to help pass the time.

I have to admit- the adventure ropes course was definitely worth the money. Initially we had thought at about $60 for each of our sons it was a expensive when added to the Skyride access - but actually, once we experienced what it was, we totally see the value and worth.

Their guide was Isaac - and he alone was worth every penny. A thorough and well humoured safety briefing, with a great practical and demo too - all of which were great for my youngest teen (who is high functioning autistic - so this is particularly important for him).

The boys then went for it on the Green course and loved it, before progressing to the Blue. One came down half way with his nerves reaching their peak by that point - whilst the eldest continued to complete the full course.

And this is where Isaac is worth every penny of that entrance fee. Not only were they both safe the entire time, and knew just how to deal with our youngest loss of confidence at the crucial moment, but once they were down, he the encouraged our eldest (the adventure seeker) by confirming that he could take on the Black course, whilst also encouraging the younger one (loss of nerves) to go and have fun on the Yellow (the easiest). They both went for it and what could easily have been a sad end to the day, turned into their best day ever - for both of them. A huge sense of achievement for the eldest and a reminder of the fun for the youngest - a great memory for the end of the day at Grouse.

The fact that there are four routes to make your way through is brilliant value for money.

And by the time we’d finished, the cloud had lifted and we enjoyed the ride back down with a view. Perfect ending to the the day.

    We’d definitely recommend it.

A fabulous little place to visit with a beach and swimming area, a public jetty if you visit by boat, and great views. Lovely little shops and eateries. A good base for walks or watersports .

Go here instead of Capilano Suspension Bridge!! I’d say Lynn Canyon offers the same, if not better walking trails. Suspension Bridge had maybe 5 people when we went, and felt more secure. Offered multiple different treks to go on, beautiful scenery and amazing waterfalls. Dog friendly

Good day out with spectacular views of Vancouver. Took the Skyride to the top and the skilift to the very summit for the most amazing views of the city and the surrounding area. Watched the Lumberjack show which was a good show. The only thing I didn't like was the grizzly bear area, I don't really like to see animals in cages but that's a personal thing.

It’s a very good ferry service with good boats and crew with exceptional toilet facilities and - in my limited experience - good safety standards and a reasonable pricing policy.

It is free to enter and wander through this facility. It was interesting to see the fish ladder, both outside next to the river and from the underground viewing area. There were plenty of posters providing information about the hatchery and different salmon species. A great place to learn about Canada's native salmon, their life cycle and to observe them up close. There were toilets available. We walked up to the hatchery from the Suspension Bridge park, 20 minutes, accurately predicted by Google!

I would rate this an easy to moderate hike. For someone who’s not active and was carrying a 23lb baby, I managed to do it. Lots of steps up but also some flat grounds too. It’s a well marked and maintained hike. It took me and my family 45mins to go up and 45mins to get down. It does gets little busy but people do step aside when there’s narrow paths or stop for you to pass.

The only thing I have to say is that I found it a little more challenging going down because of the rocks and some of the big step down but aside from that it’s not bad. There is also a small playground by the parking lot too if your kids still have energy left from the hike.

My only suggestion would be to get there earlier so you can get parking. There is a bit of street parking but that gets full too. But don’t fret when the parking lot is full, just sit in your car and wait it out. Don’t drive and try to loop back because there’s a good chance that another car will pull up behind you from pulling into the parking lot and a person will be getting into their vehicle to drive off.

From Lonsdale terminal we took the so-called "Sea Bus" to cross over North Vancouver and visit this place. The ride lasted for just a few minutes, but it was very relaxing and well organized. Nirth Vancouver is a lovely place to go to, with lots of eateries and pubs (among other things). The view of the city is also beautiful. But what I liked the most was exploring the Quay Market and Food Hall itself, with all its food kiosks and shops. There's a good selection of international cuisine to choose from. We opted for some Mexican food, which was great.

A gorgeous park with scenic views of the mountains, the Capilano River, and the Cleveland Dam. The place is ideal for a family picnic and a relaxing afternoon rest.

The trailhead is comfortable for recreational distant walking or hiking. Further down the trail is the Capilano River Hatchery and it’s amazing to watch the spawning ponds and jumping salmon.

A peaceful place to commune with nature.

We decided to take our 14 month old and he had a great time. We thought it was bigger but it did not disappoint. Waa $15 for 2 adults and child was free. The goats were the best part, can get right up to them. Covid rules state 1 hour, which is plenty of time. Ducks, chickens roaming around, few horses, pigs and cows. Don't expect too much but a fun day.
