To drop down into the caverns and keep going down and down and not realize how far you've travelled was really interesting. A great time for all skill levels.

I stopped here in July for an easy day hike, however I took the moderate way up, then the easy way down. I heard good things about Grassi Lakes and there is a very easy hike to get to and from. There are lots of picturesque spots along the way for photo opportunities. The squirrels are habitualized to human encounters as people are feeding the wildlife instead of leaving them alone.

It's a must do classic, and one of the easiest hikes around Canmore to get to.

Take your time, it's a steep climb all the way up. Can be done by all skill levels summertime when there is no ice or snow. Be prepared for strong wind at the top.

The trail has had some upgrades done to it. Spray Lakes Road is getting work done to in 2022 and the road will be closed.

Pretty much everything in Canmore is picturesque, and the boardwalk is a nice way to walk around the town. Some nice benches where you can sit down and enjoy the surrounding mountains. The path was quite icy in places so you'll have to watch your step in the winter.

What an amazing place! A wonderful playground for cross country skiing and biathlon enthusiasts. Here you can enjoy nature while practising your skiing. There are plenty of things to do other than skiing. My 3.5-year-old daughter enjoyed ice skating, snow playing and exploring around the complex.
As you'd soon learn, the facilities were built 20 years ago for the Winter Olympics so an upgrade might be soon due. Despite all of that, who stays in the lodge for too long! Many trails to explore with excellent grooming. The knowledgeable staff at the rental centre will be able to guide you with your equipment.
If you paid attention, you might spot the Canadian national athletes around the centre. Very inspiring team!

A nice 3.4 km hike one way to get as far as Point Campground from the parking lot. Lovely views of the lake and mountains along the way. This trail does have some area's with stumps and roots and shale rock to watch for.  It was near the end of May when I was there and there was still some places that had packed snow/ice and the lake was still frozen over in most spots.

There is a pit toilet near the campground. There are also a few outhouses at the parking lot.

If you go about 1km past the campground there is a waterfall. I didn't go any further than that and went back the way I came although this is another trail I took back that is down beside the lake more than the one I came in on.

I had lunch on some rocks below the campground, it was so peaceful.

It was mid week and only came across a few other people. It is a lovely place to explore.

There is no cell service in this area.

This park is wonderful if you lake nature, walk with your kids, family or pets (in the allowed areas)! Even better if you have a blessed and sunny day! From this park is possible to contemplate the wonders and see a 360 mountains view! What else should I say? Just go!
It’s really close to Canmore city center. There is parking lot and some desks for small picnics. I would like to have jumped in the beautiful lake waters but it was too could despite the sun! Enjoy!

Very rocky trail, wear sturdy shoes, runners are fine, would not recommend sandals. Amazing walk through a beautiful canyon! Look for the pictographs on the wall, very cool! Nice waterfall at the end but slippery incline to get close to it. The trails goes farther opposite of the waterfall but we didn't go that far.

Canada can hold its own with these stunning views. They are right up there with any other view throughout the world. The colours of the glacier waters, the magnificent mountains and trees were awesome and jaw-dropping. Kananaskis Village was also lovely. What a beautiful country we live in!

Saw "Visitor Center" on Highway 1 on the way to Banff from Calgary and decided to stop by. Glad to have done it.
This visitor center is managed by province of Alberta, Canada, not associated with Parks Canada. Its goal is to promote tourism and help answering questions for visitors who are traveling in Alberta, not just Banff or nearby national parks.

They have all sorts of information and staff I encountered there were knowledgeable. They not only provide information about nearby national parks (Banff, Yoho, Kootenay, and Jasper), but also cities like Calgary, Edmonton, etc, including Canmore itself.

It's less busy than Banff Visitor Center and with more information and plenty of parking. I would go to this one, especially if you are road-tripping, instead of the one located in downtown Banff where parking can be challenging.

This visitor center is only five minutes away from the Banff National Park Entrance on Highway 1. There are restaurants, gas stations, hotels, grocery stores down the street from this visitor center. A very convenient location.

Canmore is 20-30 minutes east of Banff, a good alternative option for lodging if you are visiting Banff, easier parking and less expensive lodging, that still provides great quality. Downtown Canmore is also worth visiting with good dining options.

We arrived very early on a beautiful day. Sunny with temps in the 60s. It was so nice to wander around the stable area, watching the staff do what they do in such a positive spirit. You could see they love horse and love what they are doing, albeit very physical work.
The horses were well cared for so that only made the experience better knowing they were living out a great life.
The ride is beautiful along the Bow River. Very easy for any type of rider.
The only thing I felt might have been better was to hear about the scenery a little. I was in the middle and could hear the lead guide as well as the guide at the end talking about the area. I couldn't hear either. It was not a big deal as I was wrapped up in the beauty of the area. Kudos to Cross Zee Ranch!! Next time I would take an even longer ride! Thanks!!!

Very cool distillery/bar. Sat on the patio enjoying the mountain views and the pine scented breeze. Had the sampler flight and fell in love with the Rhubarb Gin. Ended up taking a bottle home with me.

Canmore looks rough and ready but our stay was very nice. It is a big climbing adventurers resort and if you can accept this okay. Motoring in Canada is a joy, most drivers are very polite. I was not hasseled at junction by any other road user, when I went down a street UK style?

What a cool part of the world. Artwork that is unique and shows respect to First Nations with vibrant colours; books for children about a rabbit named "Boo" including said artwork. And live entertainment which is beyond fun.
