- Theodore T2 contributionsthe view were breathtaking and so easy to get to. Highly rated. Not necessarily worth going all the way to the end but the path along the river was exceptional.Written September 27, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TTPCalgary, Canada1,708 contributionsEasy trail around the creek. Covered in 2 hours. Suitable for any type of crowd including kids and pets. Some parts if the trail could be muddy. Therewerefew spots of snow too.Written May 22, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Prescott55Prescott, AZ11 contributionsI didn't hike the entire ridge trail, but approx. 7 mi. of it. While in the woods, it paralleled a golf course for approx. 4 mi. I suspect parts of the trail are more remote.Written November 16, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- TraveleriamEdmonton, Canada30 contributionsSomewhat restricted due to construction in area, you are able to do some of the trail. The Horseshoe Loop adjacent can be another optionWritten September 17, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Usia2014Calgary, Canada1,812 contributionsThis is a nice, flat trail to walk, run or bike. The scenery is peaceful with beautiful homes along the river. Great for children, wide enough for strollers and is used by bikes. We enjoyed taking our visitors here for some fresh air and exercise.Written December 7, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ben BCalgary, Canada14,150 contributionsAt 10 miles / 16 km's return walking distance, it is a substantial hike, but nothing all too challenging. It's steady uphill most of the way, and with almost 1000 metres of elevation gain, around 3000 ft, do make sure you have enough steam. But you'll be rewarded for your efforts. The area is only open starting June 15, and closes December 1, and we've never done it late in the season. But in the spring / early summer, the wildflowers are amazing. Once you leave the power line right-of-way (look for the sign on the left) and break out of the forest , the views to the north and west will be spectacular. And at the top, the eastern views open up as well. We've always had a great experience on this hike, and we're sure it you will too, as long as the weather cooperates.Written July 27, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Michelle3KCanmore, Canada36 contributionsThis is a moderate hike, with fabulous views both up and down. Take a picnic lunch to have at the meadow at the top (be sure to pack down everything). Be sure to wear sturdy shoes- this is not a hike for flip flops.Written January 24, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KellyNagle553 contributionsApprox 15km hike July 15, 2022. Pretty great terrain the whole time! Has burned forest with flowers, sub alpine tiny forest, creeks (danger cold-burns your skin), a water fall, rocky alpine, snow patches (easily crossed with hiking boots), and easy scree (poles help, but aren't necessary.) It was enjoyable the whole time. The loop wasn't accessible as the trail was covered in snow and possibly goes into avalanche zones with cornices hanging. Lots of chill marmots at the top with fur flowing in the breeze. Nice view at the top, but really the whole way has good views. Only the end is a bit steep, but it's not on a dangerous edge or anything, so is an easy/barely moderate trail for a seasoned day hiker. Ribbon lake also seemed dangerous to get to in slippery snow.Written July 29, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
