What travellers are saying
- ChaitanyaCambridge, Canada1,202 contributionsVisited the park in July and was happy we got to visit the park.
The sunsets at the park are beautiful.
Park is good, campsites are very close, sunsets are beautiful, trails are pretty straightforward and have great lookout spots. Facilities are well maintained, staff are friendly and helpful.
Our campsite was nice w/ soft ground, tree distance were longer - so need to plan better for hammocks.
Trails visited:
a) Sunset Rock - visited through beaver dam campground - best sunset photos possible, probably one of the best ones in Ontario - gets busy for sunset
b) Lookout Point trail - 3.5km loop - takes 75 mins w/ 10 lookout - nice even trail, few rocks, small boardwalk, shaded trail w/ beautiful lookout on Georgian bay.
c) Harold Point Viewing rocks - good spot, trees are beautiful w/ the slant and made for nice photos - similar lookout to sunset rocks
d) Granite Saddle Beach - feels like small private beach, very close to parking, water is cold since its shaded on 3 sides
e) Lighthouse Point - good spot for pictures and great for sunset views - its 0.5 km trail - takes 10mins to get to lighthouse point - gets busy for sunset
Decent camping experience, became better due to the beautiful sunsets.Written December 24, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. So you need a boat to get to your individual remote private campsite. The views are well worth the efforts you take to get to your site.Written June 23, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - bjg170Ontario's Highlands, Canada3 contributionsThis cruise was very well organized. It left on time and returned on time.
It's a family owned and run business which makes for a more personal experience.
It's a small boat compared to the Island Queen but that's what we were looking for. There was a washroom on board and they served drinks and snacks for the 2 hr afternoon cruise.
There were 14 customers and 3 personal on board for our cruise which made for a great experience.Written August 28, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Just sitting in the garden and taking in all the smells and sounds was so worth it.Written September 9, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sonya FelsmanGeorgian Bay, Canada58 contributionsBy boat you can enjoy the serene scenery of the Georgian Bay, eat at the Snug Harbour restaurant, play volley ball at the beach near by. You can come to the restaurant by car and the lighthouse by boat, canoe, kayak, SUP. Get outdoors and enjoy your life and love your people.Written October 18, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. At a certain point there's an option to cross a bridge. Try that path, and then see if you can get a spot at the first patio restaurant you see. It's just surprisingly good with something for everyone. Maybe it's Trestle Brewing Company?Written September 8, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

If in Parry Sound highly recommend to drive out to see the store in Nobel about 10 minutes out of town.Written November 14, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - chickandbeastSouthgate, Canada8,550 contributionsLet me say we will return to this provincial park as it's location is so convenient. We had a really good site, enjoyable time
Downside: The facilities especially the showers, gross and dirty with baaaad shower heads that squirt in every direction but you. Lack of temperature control if the shower next door activates you are getting a blast of ice cold or scalding hot.
The trains: regular loud and annoying. However it didn't bother my dogs at all a blessing. At night I used a white noise machine plus the overhead RV fan and mostly drowned them out. Dogs never responded to them so it was just a momentary night issue. More trains during the day.
What no one mentions: The regular early and late noisy overhead low flying planes. More annoying than the train on an afternoon nap.
Barely saw the park staff no problems with overzealous anything as mentioned by others. Maybe different staff high season versus close to closure?
Yes we.did hear the leaf blowing dude as mentioned clearing a parking lot of leaves, so many leaves were raining down and it was closing soon so we wondered why?
Everything going on around us was louder than our dogs when they barked so all good with that. Barking dogs for a few minutes until we got them under control no competition for leaf blower guy or the train.Written October 15, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Not huge by any means but natural beauty and pristine.Written September 19, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
