This campground is run by Ontario Parks. Note that we camped on the last weekend of their fall season. Although campsites are dense and close together at the Kilcoursie campground in Killbear Park, on this weekend there were few campers widely spread out. We had lots of privacy but we found the other campers very friendly.

The washrooms were kept very clean. Our campsite had 2 picnic tables, a fireplace, electrical hookups and beautiful views of Georgian Bay.

There are great trails to walk in this park and we have walked one of them 2 years ago, exploring the marvelous Canadian shield, which is all around this park. This park also contains gorgeous white sand beaches on fresh water.

We probably visited when the gardens were not at their peak but it was still lovely. We opted to have lunch at one of the picnic tables and climbed the lookout tower afterwards. If you’re not fond of heights or don’t have the capacity to get to the top, you can still get amazing views by climbing one level.
If you have an EV there’s a charger on site.

Georgian Nordic is an absolutely wonderful place to bike and ski! Serene trails and a very welcoming community, a treasure for the Parry Sound area! If you love the outdoors, this is the place to be :)

Gorgeous beach, not too deep, and well-maintained. It's very clean and not too crowded. Come for a day or for an hour, you'll love it. The view is incredible.

We rode bikes on this trail with kids when we were in the area, and we really enjoyed it. At a certain point there's an option to cross a bridge. Try that path, and then see if you can get a spot at the first patio restaurant you see. It's just surprisingly good with something for everyone. Maybe it's Trestle Brewing Company?

We had a one-night stay at Oastler Lake on a weekend in mid-September. We often camp in June or September, what we consider to be non-peak times, so we usually don't book in advance and typically the parks have availability. We checked availability online the day we were planning to stay here and saw that there were only 3 sites available, so we made a reservation. Good thing we did because when we arrived, the park was totally full for the night, so I recommend booking further in advance than we did! There are a mix of sites at this park, all sizes and shapes, some with a view of the water. Our site was small and not very private (but average privacy according to the website) and it was in close proximity to other sites. We like a wooded, private site so we were disappointed, but that’s what happens when you book at the last minute! In the evening, we took our chairs to the beach, which was a really short walk from our site, and watched a beautiful sunset. There were quite a few people out kayaking and fishing. Seems to be a great spot for families. The night we were there, the comfort station toilets in the women’s were quite disgusting; there seemed to be some issue with toilets not flushing properly. My husband reported that the men’s was clean, though. There are trains close by and we were warned of this when we booked. Lots of highway noise as well as noise from train horns. Cell reception was good.

This is a hidden Falls that you have to make a short walk to, worth the time to go look at. Not huge by any means but natural beauty and pristine.
