We visited Rushing river provincial campground last summer and for 10 days the year before. Beautiful provincial park, clean water and great hiking trails. The south beach is great for young kids and overall the campground is very nice. It’s a popular place so we were not able to get the dates we wanted last year. Worked out okay as we ended up finding a trailer spot 10 minutes to the south at Luther Village. (Church based family campground). Was great and the kids made friends.

Wonderful quilt exhibit was on when we went. What a range of styles!
Really liked the displays relating to Indigenous beading and handicrafts and the way the displays covered different sectors of the community other than the wealthy. Books and cards in the gift store looked good. The art centre across the way is worth checking out too also with a good gift store.

This is the second time I've seen this tribute to fishing in Lake-of-the-Woods. The first time, when my wife was alive, in 2017, we jokingly referred to this as being the reason for our cross country trip. We went from Banff to Nova Scotia on a road trip, and then back through the U.S. When we arrived in Kenora, it was raining hard, but I still got some great pictures of Husky that time.
This time, coming east to west instead, it was even better. It wasn't raining.
You can park in the parking lot across the street. There is a small park there, and then you can follow a walkway under the bridge, and come up on the other side of the road for the small park containing Husky the Muskie. There is no parking anywhere on the side of the road that he is on.
Husky himself is an impressive, nicely done statue of a muskie fish, surrounded by some modest but pretty flower gardens.
I truly feel that this statue was worth stopping for both times. To me it's a bit of local pride. The fact that it's there says this is a fishing town and we're proud of it. So, if you want to see something unique in Kenora, other than just driving by and seeing it in your car window as you pass by, relax a little if you have the time, and see it in person.

Amazing place to go with friends, spent 2 hours just running around playing tag with them. Also saw a lot of families that looked like they had loads of fun. Had a buddy who worked there said it was the best place he’s worked in 5 years

very busy very quickly after opening at 4pm. We quickly were ushered to a booth and and received menus...it was 2 for 1 chicken wings night so how could be resist. Ordered a flight of beers...above average and very tasty. Wings quickly arrived and while it did not look like much (2 lb) we were full soon. Great atmosphere...not sure if the patrons were all local or visitors like us. But a very friendly vibe - it has a very comfortable local feel We ill be back on our nest visit to Kenora (a bit of a hike from Vancouver).

We were wowed. The lot we had was odd shaped and took us a little leveling, but the park was worth it. The lake was amazing. Perfect temperature. A great dock for jumping off. Sandy bottom. It has a drop off so swimmers be aware. The other side of the dock is for boating. The store is well stocked, more of a convenience store. Lots of green space and lawn, beach was clean. Gorgeous pavilion almost finished. Friendly people all around. We loved it.

Great little stop to take a photo or three. History is alive in this lovely little town on the lake. Check out the antique shops near by.

Spent an half an hour picking up brochures and gathering information from the local girl working the desk. She was super friendly and helpful. As a bonus , picked up a book on the history of the Kenora Thistles Stanley Cup team from 1907!
Worth a stop for local information.

Stopped here with my wife, daughter and her friend. Had to take a pic with Husky the Muskie... since I have never been able to catch a fish! Great spot to stop and view Kenora's downtown from across the bay; either before or after visiting downtown.
I agree with previous reviews, free parking on the roadside, opposite from the lakeshore. A nice walk from the parking lot to the park under the bridge without worrying about the traffic.
Husky the Muskie, the dry dock tug boat, old machinery and the flower gardens are wonderful for all ages. It is too bad the plaques on the old machinery pedestals are worn out; the explanations / history would have been nice to know.

Mount Evergreen is a great place to downhill, cross country ski, snowshoe, hike or bike. It is a gem that makes life in Kenora so much better. It is really wonderful for family activities, outdoor winter, and 4 seasons of fun.
