- sarahnaidListowel, Canada393 contributionsHaving been to many small town museums before, I have never bothered to check out this museum. This time I was drawn in by a poster highlighting a temporary exhibit on the jingle dresses some indigenous women wear. By my calculation a museum that isn’t just telling the history of European settlers deserves a chance. While I found the Jingle dress exhibit so captivating that I ran out of time and energy to view the rest of the museum, it looks to be a well told story too that I will hopefully get back to see one day. If you are in the area, I recommend a stop here.Written August 10, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Gardiner WVancouver, Canada321 contributionsvery busy very quickly after opening at 4pm. We quickly were ushered to a booth and and received menus...it was 2 for 1 chicken wings night so how could be resist. Ordered a flight of beers...above average and very tasty. Wings quickly arrived and while it did not look like much (2 lb) we were full soon. Great atmosphere...not sure if the patrons were all local or visitors like us. But a very friendly vibe - it has a very comfortable local feel We ill be back on our nest visit to Kenora (a bit of a hike from Vancouver).Written June 12, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Natasha LMoncton, Canada101 contributionsWe were wowed. The lot we had was odd shaped and took us a little leveling, but the park was worth it. The lake was amazing. Perfect temperature. A great dock for jumping off. Sandy bottom. It has a drop off so swimmers be aware. The other side of the dock is for boating. The store is well stocked, more of a convenience store. Lots of green space and lawn, beach was clean. Gorgeous pavilion almost finished. Friendly people all around. We loved it.Written July 6, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- hongkongdave44Windsor, Canada171 contributionsSpent an half an hour picking up brochures and gathering information from the local girl working the desk. She was super friendly and helpful. As a bonus , picked up a book on the history of the Kenora Thistles Stanley Cup team from 1907!

- NuttyClubCalgary, Canada232 contributionsStopped here with my wife, daughter and her friend. Had to take a pic with Husky the Muskie... since I have never been able to catch a fish! Great spot to stop and view Kenora's downtown from across the bay; either before or after visiting downtown.
I agree with previous reviews, free parking on the roadside, opposite from the lakeshore. A nice walk from the parking lot to the park under the bridge without worrying about the traffic.
Husky the Muskie, the dry dock tug boat, old machinery and the flower gardens are wonderful for all ages. It is too bad the plaques on the old machinery pedestals are worn out; the explanations / history would have been nice to know.Written August 28, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The only hiccup we had was when we went to check in. We initially booked online and paid the deposit fee of $16 and opted to pay the remainder at the park. Once we arrived the girl checking us in advised that we still owed $48 for the family of 4 price for a total of $64. I asked the girl to explain the price as it was clearly written on the sign at the check in that a family of 4 was $58. Her response was that it’s only a few dollars and that the $16 was a deposit. I asked again how the math worked out and she called to a supervisor to see if we could get a refund. At no point did I get upset or raise my voice I just wanted to know why we were paying more. I did not request a refund but we did want to pay the advertised price of $58. The supervisor arrived and advised the girl that she was pressing the wrong button and that the price should be $42. The original girl than became visibly upset and slammed down the bracelets that we were supposed to wear. No apology and very poor customer service. My partner pointed this out to her and her response was this was her first day.
Disappointing start but we moved past that and still had a fun day. I recommend to the owners of hoopla make sure you train your staff in proper customer service because this was def sub par!!!Written August 29, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Our kids spend loads of tie down there.
