- Valerie S41 contributionsI drove out here alone early in the morning, and I mostly had the place to myself. It was very peaceful. It is absolutely gorgeous. The sound of the little waterfall and the rapids was wonderfulWritten July 19, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - qseaturtleQuesnel, Canada50 contributionsThree couples each booked a campsite with power for 5 nights. Great camping sites. Very clean washrooms with hot showers Some pretty large timber to be amazed at in the park. Nice beach and boat launch which were kept very clean. The mosquitoes were not too bad considering how wet some of the terrain was. I heard that the fire wood that was for sale was wet and heavy and didn't burn very well at all!! (we brought our own) Good times and we are all planning a repeat trip!!Written June 17, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ed SCharlestown, RI11 contributionsMy son and I did and 8 day trip to the Skeena back in September. Fishing on the Skeena was very slow but we got to spend two days on the Kalem. Beautiful river. A bit more intimate than the massive Skeena and we both caught two stealhead each. I would highly recommend this river.Written November 13, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- GrizeagleTerrace, Canada342 contributionsKitsumkalum Provincial Park is situated in a gorgeous, scenic and quiet forested area at the southend of Kalum Lake. The views from here are spectacular with snow-capped mountains , evergreen forests and colorful waters of Kalum Lake. The camping is free here and user maintained with room for 6 or 7 units comfortably. The beach is long and sandy with cold, glacial waters that are refreshing for a dip. Great place for kids to play and explore the beach and mossy parklike forest. Across the Kalum River is Redsand Lake Recreational Site and Hart Farm Recreational Site with free camping also. Redsand Lake has an impressive kilometre long , curved sandy beach. The views of the mountains here are scenic and superb for photos. Several campsites are right along the lakeshore with others up in the pine forest out of the wind. There are trails here that lead you to the Hart Farm Recreational Site and other places around the flat forests on the banks of the Kalum River across from Kitsumkalum Provincial Park. The access to Redsand Lake is via 26 kms. on the West Kalum Forest Road from the Tempo Gas Bar at Kitsumkalum village near Terrace. Recently the road was very rough with many potholes and there was a washout at Redsand Lake Recreational Site entrance. Redsand Lake is a great place to take kids and camp at the rustic campsites that are right on the lake. The scenery is breath-taking and gorgeous at Redsand Lake where the salmon fishing is good in season.Written September 15, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 326roboTerrace, Canada11 contributionsGreat cross country ski trails. Some challenging hills, and nice long loops if you want. Also has lit trails. If visiting for the first time, remember to bring cash or cheque, as it's an honour based system where you deposit your payment.Written March 7, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SnaglyPasadena, CA75 contributionsTwo couples spent a rainy hour touring the relocated cabins, hotel, barns and other outbuildings in this conveniently located historical exhibit. A good, solid effort for those willing to read placards.Written August 10, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LI697Vancouver, Canada15 contributionsWe visited the place on a hot afternoon but were lucky to get a guided tour of the longhouses of the Gitselasu First Nation. Our guide Darrian told us about the history of the Gitselasu First Nations, showed us artefacts in the houses and a canoe he had carved himself. Excellent tour guide! Kitselas Canyon was the perfect place to end our tour- very peaceful.Written June 26, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GrizeagleTerrace, Canada342 contributionsThe hike on the Hai Lake Trail from the trailhead parking lot one and a half kilometres off Beam Station Road was very enjoyable on this mostly sunny day in mid- September. The road off Beam Station road is quite rough with potholes and a very rough, steepish hill just before the parking lot at the trailhead, with large rocks and ruts from a washout. The Hai Lake Trail meanders through an old growth forest of tall evergreens and is quite steep in sections and rooty. The trail is well worn and packed with no muddy sections. There are a couple little boardwalks over wet areas. The trail leads through a very parklike, mossy old growth forest with little underbrush where you can see far into the tall trees that are spaced apart. The trail angles uphill for about half a kilometre and then descends down half a kilometre to the little kilometre long pristine lake. It takes roughly half and hour in and half an hour out of the kilometre long trail to the lake. You can walk another kilometre or so around the lake if you so desire. There is a rope swing on the west bank that propels you out into the lake for a very refreshing swim in the clear, cool water. There are fish in the lake if you bring a rod to try your luck. At the lake there is an outhouse, fire pits , picnic tables and a small dock to fish or swim off. All in all kt was a very enjoyable hike that wasn't overly strenuous but a good little workout. When the sun is shining the shadows throughout the forest is mystical and photogenic. A good hike to take older kids and dogs to the lake.Written September 13, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - albertasc0ttTerrace, Canada3 contributionsI shop at Skeena mall and like the cleanliness of it! Most of the merchants are friendly. Only wish there were more outlets to choose from. I like the fact that there is a grocery store and a drug store included.Written January 18, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TKGLAWBKitimat, Canada12 contributionsParticipated in a school field trip to this place in early February, 2019. The hill was great for kids who were learning and the instructors provided great lessons. The hill was groomed well and the rental shop staff had everything prepared when the students arrived to make our transition to the hill painless! I recommend this hill to anyone and everyone!Written February 28, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Skeena Diversity2 contributionsThe place in Terrace to go for gifts, locally made products and amazing art. It's not only beautiful, it's so convenient - you will find art and different locally made things from nearly 70 artists. This is my go-to place for shopping for gifts, face masks and any time I want to find something unique. The staff is very helpful and generous. I will be back soon!Written November 18, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
