What travellers are saying
- Gardiner WVancouver, Canada356 contributionsGet a real sense of Canada's early railway history with a quick visit to the museum. Lots of photos of yesteryear with text. And a huge, I mean huge, steam locomotive inside together with what I think they called a parlour car. Also some aged rolling stock in the museum yard...you can able through the caboose. Well presented displays - kids would love it. Also a nice little film on continuous reel with oldtimers telling their stories of how to run these behemoths. Well worth a visit.Written June 3, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Ross JChestermere, Canada5 contributionsThis was my first time to Revelstoke. Skied 3 days. I was very impressed at how well this ski hill is laid out. Excellent dining options. Capable lift systems. Snow conditions very good considering the 2022-23 season hasn't been the best for Revelstoke.Written February 19, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KevinTobin467Bicester, UK204 contributionsThe car park gets busy so an early start is best. Go to the top first and walk up to the fire watchers hut. Go by the road and return by the trail. Plenty of walks at summit and around the lake lower down. Difficulties to suit all abilities.
Visit the other viewing areas on the way down.Written August 30, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TarransGreat Yarmouth, UK40 contributionsAmazing place and nice to learn so much history. The displays little dusty and old but with so few visitors must cost so much to try keep on top of it. We stayed in the hotel so got discounted entrance. Bit creepy ha ha so made sure out before dark!!
We thought it so nice that somebody wanted to save all these old building and keep them in an authentic town like place. Well worth a visit.Written October 30, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It does get busy but there is plenty of room for everyone. It has a diving board, rock wall, slippery slide, hot tub, sauna, steam room, lap pool and a whirl pool. It’s $6 per adult and $1 for a locker.Written February 7, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Wendy M1 contributionGlacier National Park is beautiful. It is very green with pine trees. We stayed in Whitefish. We did many daily activities like ATVing (Glacier Ridge Runners), fly fishing (Glacier Raft Co.), Sun Tours through the park, white water rafting (Glacier Raft
Co., boat rental on Flathead Lake, and a drive to
Many Glacier to see the “wild animals.” I would recommend all the activities above and all the companies above. We did all activities half days.
Some tips: ATVing- very dusty but fun and safe for family. Fly fishing-beautiful, easy-ish. Sun Tours-no need for vehicle pass but you get to see all the hot spots up to Logan’s pass and you don’t have to
drive the scary Sun Road. (Sun Rd is a nicely paved road but it gets very high and it gets a little scary with the low rocks/guard rails and the big drops over
the edges. It can be driven by anyone but it was nice to have someone else who is experienced to do it for you!) white water rafting- very fun, rapids not too crazy in Aug but enough to have fun. You
get wet, shoes especially. It was hot not chilly. Boat rental on Flathead Lake- rented an 18’ deck boat and spent four hours driving up lake. The lake is beautiful and has hardly any boaters. Def worth the day. I would recommend getting some blowup
tubes, tying them together and to the boat and floating and swimming for the time on the lake. We swam near the edge of the lake and the water was
not too cold. It was a normal temp. Drove to Many
Glacier- took 2.5 hours from Whitefish and the drive was IN THE MIDDLE OF NO WHERE. You may pass a gas station and maybe a small cafe and
that’s about it. We arrived at Many Glacier around 7:30 in hopes we’d see animals. When we got there there wasn’t a lot of roads to drive on to see the animals so we parked and decided to hike on the
many trails. We also decided to buy BEAR SPRAY.
YOU MUST HAVE BEAR SPRAY IF YOU HIKE THERE. We hiked on Grinnel path and not only saw bears but they were right on the hiking path in front of us. We ran into two grizzly bears, one being a
momma bear with two cubs and the other on the path further ahead. They surprised us by walking into the path about 30 yards ahead. The second grizzly we saw we were walking around a tree on
the path when two girls came running around the tree asking if we had bear spray. Needless to say we all took off running (even though your not supposed to but we thought it was far enough away
plus the running girls scared us so we all ran!). We did not have to use the bear spray but we had it if we needed it and the girls did not. I would also
suggest going in a larger group if possible. Some
hikers are used to this type of encounter due to experience but if you are a family like us, you are not used to seeing bears like this.
Staying in Whitefish: we really loved this location. It is a charming town with many stores and restaurants. We stayed at a house in The Quarry
housing community which is new, clean, and has a
great club house with pool, hot tub and gym . (Directly across from The Montana Tap House). It was an easy walk into town (about 1 mile) or a quick
drive with free parking. It is about 30-35 min away from most activities.
Bathrooms: I was a little worried about having to
“go” in the woods but there are plenty of bathrooms
around the park. Most are glorified outhouses but they are there. If you see signs that say “National Forest Access,” these are access points for rivers or
camp sites and always had a bathroom. You will
see these signs along the roadways marking access points not easy to see from the road.
My family does not hiker or camp. We just wanted to
see a beautiful natural wonder. It was a great family vacation and a way to appreciate nature!Written September 8, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Very modest entry fee ($7 for a senior) and fascinating displays on the construction and operation of the dam. - Okanagan Yogini11 contributionsSo many Provincial Parks have a no dogs on the beach rule and while dogs are not allowed on the gorgeous sandy beach in the lagoon, there are several places where they ARE allowed to run OFF LEASH along the river. My dogs absolutely loved it! The highlight for me is Sutherland Falls, listed as one of the top 100 waterfalls in BC. It is also close to Begbie Falls, which is a lovely hike, and not far from Revelstoke Mountain if you want to ride the Pipe Coaster in summer. And adding to it all, the staff working there were truly lovely, friendly, kind and helpful.Written August 11, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Barbara S17 contributionsWe had a fantastic 3 days at Great Northern Snowcat Skiing! They were able to accommodate our entire group of 13, keep us together in the Cat and on the hill and find us fantastic untracked boot high snow 3-4 days after the last snowfall in mid-late March. The guides were professional experts that were a lot of fun and the food and accommodations were terrific. We planned this bucket list adventure almost a year in advance and were not disappointed. Our expectations were met and exceeded, such a memorable experience we will never forget!Written March 22, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ron FAuburn, CA94 contributionsI was there in early December. The snow did not disappoint. My group did 3 nights at the lodge. The food was excellent. 4 and 5-course dinners! They know how to do it right. The first 2 days of skiing were mainly tree skiing due to the weather. On the third day the storm broke we had a bluebird day in the alpine! Hot tub - yes, clean rooms - yes, great staff - yes. If you have the skill you should go here to ski.Written December 11, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Okanagan Yogini11 contributionsThese falls are gorgeous! I hiked down to them with my dogs. The experience was slightly ruined by people from Alberta who had somehow managed to drive down and then walk in with lawn chairs and they were all smoking cigarettes. Kind of a bummer when that beautiful clean air gets polluted like that. Only stayed a few minutes, which was sad. But SUCH a beautiful waterfall!Written August 11, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
