Unbelievably cool! There are so many different styles of sculpture and art scattered across castlegar filling one with a sense of wonder. It is interesting to see this community reinvent itself; to see tourist walking along and taking pictures and sketching these fantastic creations. They bring an element of joy to castlegar. Bravo!

This beautiful island, nested across from the confluence of the Columbia and Kooteney rivers, is a hidden gem. A network of trails provides beautiful views and the tranquillity of nature. On my visit the suspension bridge was not open. It looks like it may be shut down for some time? But it is a wonderful visit.
I also highly recommend it as a destination if you’re putting some miles in running in castlegar. It’s a fun place to include on your run because it makes a natural turnaround.

Learning the local history in Castlegar and this should be on your list. We’re finding that the Doukhobor culture is deeply rooted in the community and we wanted to know more about it. The Museum helped with this!

Stayed at the park while visiting castlegar for one night! We really enjoyed our stay, the sites were clean, spaced well, and the park is great! Visit and do some of the hikes in the park including tulip falls! Only reason for a star off is cause we had loud neighbors till about 1am and there was no one that came around as security...I would definitely stay again tho and pray for better neighbors!

This park was a game changer for Castlegar. Located down on the Columbia River near the confluence of the Kooteney it is absolutely spectacular. A myriad of sports fields, tennis courts, swimming areas, sculptures, tiny libraries, a bike park, fitness stations and unbelievably awesome walking trails. This park has and will make castlegar the place to live and be going forward. Also if you’re travelling through, go and have a picnic, or a run at this park. You will not be let down.

A brief visit early August. Small museum with displays in good shape. Like the old diving suit and the Harley bike. Upstairs are mostly old household displays. Outdoor displays old CPR train where you can board and browse inside the cabin. Shady
bench outside for a rest in the heat.

We return time after time with amazing exhibits of local artists. The gift shop is my go to for taking gifts afar when visiting family and friends. Well worth the time to visit, tucked away by the Duokhibor Museum. By donation.

If you want to Camp in Total Wilderness.. with the threat of bears , cougars and Grizzlies then this is your place. There are no Services and your 35 miles from the nearest Town... The Scenery is unmatched.. very serene place. A Beautiful Place

I was super impressed by the amount of helpful material available to help me better enjoy my brief visit to Castlegar and surrounding area. It kinda made me wish I had scheduled more time here. Oh well, another time.

I went to Tailout to see what they did to the old Banjo's spot and I like it. Banjo's was almost a dive bar, but with a lumberjack feel. Tailout Brewing classed it up a whole lot. The staff is awesome. I was gonna get a Tailout Brewing growler/fill and the bartender says they were out of growlers.

When I get a few freinds together for a Castlegar pub crawl, Tailout's on the docket.

This golf course was in fantastic shape when we played on Fathers Day 2022. It is nicely laid out to provide enough challenge but not overly difficult. Staff at clubhouse were very frindly and helpful. Susan at RV park was also friendly and helpful. Camping spots were plenty large and well spaced. The only drawback is there is no rv dumping station at the campground

Can't imagine a more knowledgeable guide/owner Rod on the Columbia River. I learned more in one trip that I previously thought possible.

I have been to this restaurant a couple times on my stay in Castlegar. I am from Vancouver and have to say this is the best and all the staff are the bomb! The food is awesome and reasonable! Like I said I am from Vancouver and if I ordered this food and drinks in Vancouver it would cost twice as much and would get less of it. Good job to owners I will be back and tell all I know to go there!

It has a nice walking trail as well, the bridge is foot traffic only and worth checking out. Interesting history behind it.

This little shop is amazing! There’s is a huge selection of vintage clothing and home decor! Some of the best pieces I’ve ever found have come from this gem of a store. Too boot they also support local artists and makers and have a beautiful selection of locally made bath, beauty, art and gifts. My go to spot for shopping local and for buying clothing for myself and gifts for friends and family!
