What travellers are saying
- Paul HExeter, UK5 contributionsEasy to get to from Campbell River about ten minutes in a car. Parking was easy, but we were at the end of the season. Short ish walk to the falls which are spectacular. Plenty of trails to explore and we'll worth the visit.Written September 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - FlyingOftenSouth San Francisco, CA159 contributionsMy wife and I did the short hike from the parking lot to the suspension bridge. It was a fairly simple hike. We then went to the rocks close to the river. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that rocks were so uneven, and I fell and scrapped my knee and elbow.
Tom at the information center had a first aid kit, and I was able to disinfect and bind my wounds.Written June 7, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Quite a hike down and back up but well worth the trek.Written September 25, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - David BToronto, Canada411 contributionsEnjoyed this hike, 3 hours fairly steady to go out and back, moderate difficulty but fine for most people. Some interesting forest segments, marred a little by a couple coastline vistas along the way that are rather industrial looking, but that is also reality. Be sure and read the plaque at the trailhead about the Seymour Narrows engineering work in the 1950’s, it makes your final end-of trail view much more meaningful.
Two things to know
1-there is a trail fork right at the end, the left side goes up a big staircase. You may be tired and want to skip it, DON’T, the view is way better than than the trail forking right. In 10 minutes, you can see both anyway.
2-this hike is nice, but Elk Falls waterfall and suspension bridge was shorter and more impressive if you are only going to have time for a single hike in Campbell River.Written September 27, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The seating was good and the sound quality was very good as well. This theatre, located in downtown Campbell Rived offers ample parking across the street and offers easy access to find.Written June 3, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Our hosts/guides were so very warm and welcoming and shared their knowledge and personal background as it relates to their culture. Our heartfelt thanks go to Janet, Ron, Tony & Bob for making this day so very special for the 3 of us. We were so looking forward to this outing and we were not disappointed. We learned and we experienced and talked. We also had a safe yet up close & personal encounter with a bear and her cub ... it was so exciting yet intimate for the whole group. Thanks again for a truly wonderful and memorable day.Written October 5, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - kwillgrantAbbotsford, Canada2 contributionsMy friends surprised me with a half-day salmon charter on the ocean with Coastal Wilderness. They are not fishing people, so this came as surprise to me. Joel, our captain, worked hard to keep us in the bait zone and ensured everyone on board had a shot at landing some fish. His years of experience shine bright. His boat was clean, his gear was up-to-date, he was all ready rock & roll when we arrived, and he abided by the regulations for their region. There really isn't much more you could ask for in a guide. Quiet at first, but was happy to talk about all disciplines of fishing that we get to enjoy here in BC. Certainly the best guided experience I've had to date. Thanks again Joel! I'll be back again some day.Written October 7, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Liz D1 contributionWe were very happy with our tour, we selected the 4 hour afternoon whale watching and the company was helpful throughout the whole process. From booking, to arrival and set up, to the cruise, and debriefing after on what we saw and where it was top notch. Our captain was well informed and fun, and we got super lucky seeing so many whales jump!Written September 30, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DaveCarlisle, UK15 contributionsGary was an amazing skipper and guide, his knowledge of the area and the wildlife was incredible, he found us, resident and transient orca, humpbacks, seals and steller sealions, we even saw the resident orca interacting with the humpbacks, not a common site apparently, overall a fantastic trip out, thank you Gary.Written September 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Leslie F1 contributionSo amazing! Coptering to the top of a mountain with Isaiah! My birthday pressie! Best ever! Isaiah our pilot was very knowledgeable of the area, all the peaks, all the boater bays, and what lay beyond the snow topped peaks you were seeing. 49 North is the best!Written September 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Cora W1 contributionGood solid and fast boat. Possible to sit and stand in the open air or in the covered cabin. The guide alias captain alias boatsman and host, Josh, is a very nice and knowledgeable guy. The responses and instructions of this company when booking, are fast and clear.
Further, the weather was wonderful and the whales could almost be touched.
