This is supposedly the biggest mall in Vancouver and it doesn't disappoint with the choice of brands. It has a huge selection of international, Canadian, luxury and budget brands. It is very centrally located with the Sky Train and bus stations right next to the mall. The food court has a huge choice and there are other eating joints spread across the mall. The overall cleanliness of washrooms was very disappointing as I have not seen such poorly maintained washrooms in Canada. Overall, a great place to spend a rainy afternoon, or for a one-stop shopping expedition.

We stopped by here on a Saturday morning to see what they have. We were pleasantly surprised. They had a a good variety of booths. Everything from homemade cookies, to pet treats, to flowers, to fresh vegetables, and other great booths. There was a BIG RED CHAIR to take pictures with and the whole family did. It was a good choice to do in the morning before an action packed day. It is on the grounds of city hall so the gardens are beautiful to walk around in.

The mall is easily access from Skytrain and there is plenty of parking. There is not a lot here for tourists, but a great stop for the neighbourhood with a Walmart and plenty of restaurants including iHop and a Starbucks. The food court has a decent choice of cuisines.

Tucked away in Deer Lake Park in Burnaby, BC is this small gallery exhibiting original works by local artists. Worth the visit if you are in the area as the Burnaby Art Gallery that features a new local artist monthly is also in the vicinity. The verdant park itself is well-tended with concrete walkways located just behind Burnaby City Hall.

We went to the Shadbolt centre next door to see a temporary exhibition but it was closed. It was suggest that we check out the Burnaby Art Gallery as it had new acquisitions on display. It's a small art gallery in a converted heritage house. There were 2 exhibitions, one on the theme of "Ghost" and another on "Queer" or being different.

Both collections were rather eclectic and too off beat for our taste. The first nation carving panel displayed in the staircase was the highlight.

    Not sure we'd rush back.

Brought in a jacket for repair and staff just assumed it was not repairable without actually checking to see if it was. It only takes a few minutes and the store just opened with no customers yet. What happened to their product warranty??

Nothing to see or buy, not even window shopping. Two third of the shops are closed (not rented). Had a lunch at the food court and left. The worst thing was to pay for the parking at $2 per hour, very expensive. Metrotown is only a few kilometer away with no parking fees and nearly all the shops are open.

This local chocolatier has been around for decades! 50 years in 2021! Despite Covid the place was bustling! They sell quality chocolate, Callebaut chocolate from Belgium.

They offer chocolates to celebrate any occasion along with custom orders. Many years ago, the company I worked at had custom chocolates made from Charlie’s. It was a hit! A great way to support local businesses.

There’s chocolates for vegans and diabetics (maltitol). How sweet that is! There’s also bulk candy (salt water taffy & hard candy), bulk chocolate, no sugar chocolates, and nuts. They even sell supplies such as boxes, bags, foils, & molds for your own creations. I got some chocolates and bags in various sizes.

Be aware of the prices charged as the cashier originally rang through a higher price than what was marked on the item. They don’t have a scanner. There’s two locations – one off Boundary and Canada Way (with a few complimentary parking spots in front of the store) and the other in Port Coquitlam.

May they be around for another 50! Congrats Charlie’s Chocolate Factory!!!

Great shop filled with a smorgasbord of wondrous scents. It’s like walking into a fairy tale magical land. Staff are attentive and kind as well. Definitely a good space to be in if your just looking to decompress or heal something. Essential oils are much better than the Big Pharma. Be curious, try a bunch out.

Muckabout is my go-to place for all kinds of gifts: for birthdays, baby showers, weddings, and "just because." Whenever I visit, I find something new and beautiful, with a wide range of prices. There are ceramics pieces, jewelry, ornaments, baby items, food, cards, candles, practical items made artfully, and beautiful items made to last and be enjoyed. Every items is hand-made by local artists. Workshops and crafting parties are also offered at the store. It's a fun way to learn a new skill and enjoy the relaxation and social connection that happens when you make something beautiful. This place is a a local jewel, worth a first visit, and many returns.
