It's a very quaint beach with a lot of amenities, splash pad, walking and picnic areas , marina and lifeguards also free parking. Had a great time we found ourselves returning on 3 days because our Cottage water front was like a swamp so we drove here to relax in the sun. It's a must visit if your in the area especially if you have small children.

So beautiful!! So many beautiful trails and waterfront views. We stayed at the Best Western that has trails literally right behind the building that can access the park so we didn’t have to pay for parking, so happy about this!!

First time staying here, person at check in was very friendly room was spacious, large shower, very clean, will be staying here again (hopefully September), the wifi was iffy, early morning you could get on but at night was more difficult. One small item we were not advised that if we wanted maid service (ie make the bed and change the towels) we needed to call, otherwise it was awesome

We enjoyed Bass Lake we had a decently private electrical site with a sun shade mix, we noticed a lot of sites are so open or small not for us. We were beside a road which didnt turn out to be a problem in a year people cant go anywhere. It did drown out our noisy neighbours on occasion.

One issue was the missing water tap there is a sign and no tap, when you base your choice partially on proximity to water it can be an issue on a longer stay.

Walked the trails which were lovely all the way round, sat at Bass Lake at a shady picnic table and had a picnic. Not too buggy in August.

Waterfill/dump station are the same line up so long lines as it would include people arriving and people departing. Dont go around 2. Most provincial parks have them seperate to avoid congestion.

Had a great stay, would I go back? Probably not as there are many places to see and while enjoyable this would not be my preferred park.

We just finished the fall High Tea afternoon lunch on the porch at the cafe, Stephen Leacock Museum. It was wonderful. The food was a plentiful serving of specialty finger sandwiches, decadent sweet cakes/Pastries and fruit scones along side refreshing tea in fancy China cups & saucers. The serene view of the grounds & lakefront provided a tranquil atmosphere. Our hostess was gracious and it was a memorable time all around. Thank you.

It has been a number of years since I have been here. They always do a good job in their research plus giving a good overview of what the OPP has done over the years. I personally know several people that have made donations to the OPP museum via my membership within the OPPVA. Free admission but you need to show I,D. to get a name tag to tour this part of the building. Things have changed here from a security perspective sibce 9/11. Lot's of free give aways too which will add to enjoyment in visiting the OPP museum. Keep up the good work here as it truly a positive experience here!

Scout Valley is a great place to lose yourself in the middle of Orillia.
Well groomed paths take you through mature forests that satisfy all the senses.

My husband and I visited for the first time. We had a personal tour. Chris, our guide, has a vast knowledge regarding the creatures in the exhibits and it was obvious that the staff care deeply about their work with the animals. Many of the creatures are endangered and the centre is doing some important outreach and educational work. I was previously unaware how many of these creatures live in southern Ontario and Canada. We had the option of holding some of the snakes and other creatures but preferred to view them only. Would return.

Next week, they move into a cozier warm environment pre Christmas. This past weekend was in the arena - a little dismal at first upon entry. Soon to be celebrated: Muskoka Lamb, Severn Sunset - fabulous chilly, excellent quality of foods. The sour dough bread was outstanding, stencils fo Xmas are coming. We purchased fresh greens, beets, bread, cheese and foods for a fabulous Sunday night dinner. Thanks to the farmers and vendors who are there for us throughout the year! Looking forward to the cozier environment next weekend. We’ll be back!

Beautiful, clean, well-maintained docks. Good hook-ups for hydro & water. Gated for security. Plenty of nice, private washrooms and showers are in a locked building - staff let you in, and are very vigilant about only granting access to boaters. Nice park, playgrounds, small beach. (Don't get mistake the small sandy dirt patch for the beach. Walk a tiny bit further. The beach has a small building and is maintained). Walking distance to many cute shops & great restaurants, as well as, Shopper's Drug Mart, Metro grocery store, and Global pet store, (in case you need to restock your boat). I don't think they charge for day use along the seawall. Prices for gated docks are very reasonable.

We were on a family trip near Midland and decided to take a drive to Orillia to the antique store. I found the lamps I've been searching for and I couldn't be happier.

Very clean, bright space with lots of interesting items. Recommend setting aside at least an hour to go through if you want to see everything.

We have spent the last three Christmas time at Guardian Angels Church, when we stay at The Fern Resort. The mass is good although the priest doing the sermon is a bit difficult to understand, Christmas Eve mass has been very quiet, the last two years and the priests are very nice, it is nice speaking to them after mass on Christmas.

They had a newspaper article in the local online edit that they they were final open. Reasonable admission charge but self guided tour just of the first floor only at this time. The intern on duty said they we be fully open in several weeks time. The gift shop was open and told they have a good plus dedicated Board of Director's over seeing this nice kept museum. Will be back in several weeks time to check things out since I like museums plus art galleries. Keeps me humbled about the finer things in life!

I dropped by here on St. Paddy's Day but it was closed up. However I ended up talking on one of its dedicated members in the parking lot. They are doing better than most other Legions as it has a membership of between 1,200 to 1,300 active members the majority being associate members in good standing. For 10 dollars I bought a hat pin dedicated to Cdn. First Nations soldiers. Great talking to this Legion member of mature years as he made it worth while dropping by despite being closed.
