Having visited many fine art museums in Europe, this was certainly different with an eclectic mix of modern installations, paintings representing Quebec culture and a wonderful collection of Inuit art and carvings.
Having visited many of Europe's great art museums, I kept my expectations low...but I found myself pleasantly enchanted by the mix of old and new art, and the classic and modern.

One of the most amazing and interesting museums I have ever experienced- see the Virtual Library exhibit if you can!
Overall, this museum was done incredibly well, and hosted some of the best exhibitions I've seen in museums around Canada and Europe.

There's a military history museum open for browsing as well as guided tours through the citadel, which include a few museums within the older no-longer-functioning buildings.
There are two small museums on the tour, both of which were interesting and well done...not big enough to be overwhelming.

Best of the 4 museums!
With some down time on a recent visit to Quebec, we stopped in to the museum for a quick tour and decided to go back for a guided grand tour of the chapel and seminary that was included in the museum price.

A labor of love by the original M. Brousseau, this gallery (more like a museum) is a couple of blocks up toward the Porte Saint-Louis from the Chateau Frontenac.
The gallery and the museum offer an remarkable insight into this very Canadian art form.

Would definitely recommend having a tour, as the museum itself is quite small and in my opinion the most interesting part was the longhouse.
