An excellent museum. The exhibits are very well done, and interesting. I would recommend this museum to anyone who has interest in Canadian history.

Visited on a rainy Saturday in October on the free bus hop on /off shuttle from Ottawa -"Fall Rhapsody Tour ," and would highly recommend this trip.
We caught the bus(one of the yellow school buses) from outside the History Museum and on arrival at the park we were able to get off at any of the stops and wander around to take photos and then catch the next shuttle .We never had any more than about 10 mins to wait . Volunteers /staff were on hand at each stop to provide information and the notice broads were also very informative.
The bus drivers were all very friendly and helpful .
Despite the rain and the mist we managed to have a great morning and captured some stunning photos .
    Highly recommend this tour .

Great interactive place for kids to have fun and learn. Lots to explore and great way to spend 2-3hrs. You also have access to thw other museum attached so plan more time if you want to do both.

My husband and I took a pre-arranged shuttle that picked us up at the main entrance of the Quebec train station and took us to Jacques Cartier National Park. The trip was about 45 minutes and the ride was pleasant. Once at the park we were able to purchase sandwiches and snacks at the gift shop before embarking on our journey. We did a 6+ mile hike that started near the visitor’s center, though I can’t remember the trail name. The hike was strenuous but was equal parts incline, flat and decline which made it palatable. We are not particularly athletic and were able to do the hike, including a couple of stops for water (which we brought with us) and lunch at the scenic mid-way point, with only a half hour more time of what we were informed the trail should take. I believe we were told 3.5 hours and it took us approximately 4 hours with stops. Lovely day and we lucked out with temperate conditions.

On a Sunday afternoon, I was at the Mackenzie King Estate with friends for an afternoon tea. as well as to explore the estate where Canada's longest-serving Prime Minister, William Lyon Mackenzie King had his summer residence and retreat. There were these old ruins of Medieval archways and columns that were salvaged from the 1916 fire that consumed the Parliament Building in Ottawa as well as fragments that King collected from the British Houses of Parliament. While my friends and I were eating outside of the Pat Cafe, music from the Swing Era of the 1940s was playing in the background that was as a trip back in time making it a jolly day.

Nice little beach on a lake.
    Playground just next to it.
Very peaceful getaway in the center of the Gatineau/Ottawa area.
    Parking not too expensive.
Bring your lunch, your towel and enjoy!

Sitting by the water, taking in the serenity of the park. Not in a hurry to go back home. These are the emotions I relieve each time I go to this park

This is a beautiful park. Loved walking through the green spaces. Children’s playground looked like it had lots of fun equipment. Watching the magnificent sunsets from the park and pier is spectacular. City of Gatineau runs many free activities. The fireworks display was excellent and we watched it from a boat in the water. The bicycle path is lovely and we road on both sides of the Ottawa River crossing 2 bridges for a 3 hour round trip passing rapids and parliament.
The only disappointment was that swimming at the large sandy beach was not possible the whole week we were visiting due to unsafe levels of bacteria in the water. Some people ignored the warnings and were swimming outside of the marked area. It is good that the water is tested on a regular basis, but be aware that closures can happen. All the other beaches in the vicinity were open.

Located next to the parking lot folks park at before going on the boat ride or to the Children's Museum. It's a must visit if you are a fan of Hockey, and one of its greatest players.

Completed two years ago, the cycling trail along the river is superb, in great condition, lots of flowers, lots of people, and eventually, a lot more action as the area further develops to attract boaters, cyclists and other tourists.

Has not been a museum for many years now. It's now a great restaurant with bar and terrace - Les Brasseurs du temps.

This park has a variety of activities available. You can rent skis, snowshoes, skates and tubes in the winter. When the rink is open, there are two fire pits for you to warm up at.

The ski trails are groomed regularly and parking is free. There a few small hills on the XC Ski trail but they add a bit of fun.

Take along food as there isn't a snack there. Have fun!
