- Alison PGrants Pass, OR57 contributionsMorte Lake is a really beautiful hike that is pretty easy - about 6 mi. altogether, mostly flat but there are a lot of rocks and roots so you have to pay attention; very serene and the environment very untouched.Unfortunately, the day we went there was smoke from some fires in WA and BC which may have kept some people away, but it did not change the beauty of the hike. We only saw two people the entire time we were there. We felt very accomplished when we finished and headed to Herriot Bay Inn and had a beer and burger in the pub there which was a great way to celebrate the hike!Written September 11, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sandie R1 contributionThe new mini golf course is amazing. The driftwood sculptures are a work of art. - Karen G1 contributionWe had a week of Seakayaking on the Desolation Sound trip. It was an amazing experience & we loved every minute! The scenery was incredible, we had awesome wild camping spots on the islands & opportunities to swim in lakes as well as the sea each day. We had fantastic weather too during the first week of Sept. The guides, Vince & Alison were brilliant. Hardworking, knowledgeable & professional, they looked after us brilliantly & cooked us lovely meals. We had a great group of people & a really good dynamic. The kayaks were a high standard. Sadly we didn’t see any whales on the trip, but this didn’t detract from what was a truly memorable experience.Written September 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Matthias_SilkeHamburg, Germany11 contributionsWe, a couple in late 50s, joined the Whales and Wilderness Expedition (6days/5nights) in the Broughton National Park, paddling about 60 km from Bauza Cove (near Telegraph Cove) to Paddler‘s Inn, deep in the archipelago in north eastern Vancouver Island. It was a wonderfully designed (one-way back by boat) and well organized trip discovering new territory and views each day in ever changing weather (think foggy mornings brightening up by mid-day, mostly), which was magical. We spotted sea otters, seals, sea lions, dolphins, porpoise and humpback whales, plus black bears on shore, with hearing whales blow at night while lying in a cosy tent maybe being the most magical nature experience for me. Our group of ten plus our two great guides Alana and Morgan, made this a very special and truly unforgettable trip, with our guides’ experience (from navigation, marine life to respect to Mother Nature) great cooking skills (from fresh fish to tacos and pancakes, with lots of fresh veggies and fruit) and above all wonderful humor making this happen. Thanks so much for all of this and so much more, we will be back!Written October 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RianB2 contributionsThis company goes above and beyond to make the experience amazing! We saw black bears, orcas, humpbacks, eagles, sea lions, and seals. In an effort to search for the wildlife, Ruben took us on a tour of one of the most beautiful places on the planet!
One of the humpbacks came right up under the boat (even though Ruben respectully kept about 100m away - it wanted to come to us!)
Lunch was wonderful, with homemade cookies, croissant sandwiches, and hot chocolate and coffee.
This was an amazing experience that we will not forget!Written August 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. But was supported by all the wonderful people I met at flow. I came to get some feel of wilderness but it’s really so comfortable that instead I just enjoyed being outside -off the grid-but very connected to those around.Written September 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We had an absolutely fantastic 4 day trip and would highly recommend Orca Dreams to whomever truly wants to experience observing whales at their best in the wild. There are obviously never any guarantees but our host JD’s knowledge and network in the area are the best there is. Luckily Mother Nature was on our side as the weather (mid August) was perfect and whale viewings were abundant. The Orca Dreams friendly staff are knowledgeable ensuring your stay is safe, clean and a whole lot of fun! Not to mention the food is healthy and delicious. Our group was a fun loving perfect mix of families and couples. The schedule is kept light and organized on a daily basis. We liked this laid back approach as it allowed us to choose activities as we pleased. Definitely worth every penny!Written August 18, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Gorgeous views throughout of pristine water, numerous islands, rocky cliffs, and mountain ranges beyond. We started out at low(er) tide and saw lots of tidal/sea life (purple sea stars, red sea cucumbers, sea urchins, oysters, clams, jumping fish) and seals. After paddling around islands, we stopped for lunch at a rocky beach. On the way back, we hugged the coastline and turned bend approaching seal rock when our guide noticed a number of boats in the distance. We stopped and soon realized why. Straight ahead, two orcas swimming around seal rock. We stopped and watched in amazement for a bit and then we saw the black dorsal fins start heading our way. They came well out of the water twice showing their black & white markings. I finally grabbed my phone and got a few parting shots as they swam by our group. Incredible experience! Highly recommend!Written June 30, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

Extremely professional, friendly, easy-going, and a true jolly fisherman at heart. If you ever go to Campbell River, look no further, AG will take great care of you and your guests and ensure you bring back some keepers. His boat is super clean and his equipment is in pristine condition. 10/10, I will be back in no time!Written August 20, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
