What travellers are saying
- Donna M.7 contributionsSo much to see and do! Was a great 4 days camping! The amount of frogs on the lake is amazing and trails are an awesome ride! I only regret I didn’t bring my paddle board because I thought it would be too cold, it wasn’t!Written October 16, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - matayataVancouver, Canada22 contributionsLovely spot with a small cove. Not too big of a campground, half the sites are first come first serve. There is no sandy or rocky beach or patch of grass, which might be a deterrent for those with little kids. Also please note that the previous problematic park ranger/host is no longer working with BC Parks, so don't let the previous reviews scare you off ;)Written July 30, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Fabian S1 contributionSunshine Coast Shuttle offered amazing service to pick us up and transfer us to Sarah Point to get us safely on our way hiking the wonderful Sunshine Coast Trail. Due to circumstances out of our control we needed to reschedule our original dates. Jesse was most understanding and helpful to accommodate our needs and handled the changes professionally! We also rented some gear from him and after returning it, he promptly refunded the deposit. Great service, run by great people in a great location! Thank you!Written May 29, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- StuartSan Francisco, CA8 contributionsGreat hiking. I was hoping for old growth, but did not really find it. We did find delightful, peaceful second or third growh mixed conifer trails that were well maintained and clearly marked. There were a few big old trees. Conectivity can be a challenge, so I recommend old-school map and navigation.Written September 14, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - StuartSan Francisco, CA8 contributionsThese big old concrete ships were grounded to form an artificial harbor for sawmill operations that are now about 90% shut down. The old mill operations are mothballed, but tere is still some activity, paper recycling or maybe pulp and paper milling. There are a lot of signs discoraging you from getting down to the harbor, but a good bluff worked for me. A few hundred yards further north there is an olsd company town with a theater, pub, and hotel that are hanging on. Altogether worthwhie if you like odd spooky places that feel ike you should not really be there.Written September 14, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jonathan C9 contributionsVery interesting museum - but we would have liked to see more indigenous history and early settlers. Very small space and no available washroom (had to leave building and cross busy road for one).Written September 30, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Teresa HTexada Island, Canada6,341 contributionsA bit of a drive from the Main hwy 101 along logging roads. When hauling, they recommend you stay off the logging roads between 6am-6pm monday-friday or get a VHF radio with the correct frequency, ask the tourism office in Powell River for where to obtain this. Road is passable for a 2 wheel drive with good clearance. Flats are common. Along the way great serviced camp spots but the best is up past Goat Lake. We are not climbers, but views and great scenery make it a worthwhile experience.Written September 21, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Don MVancouver, BC125 contributionsThe Powell River Visitor Centre is located above the old town and the signage to access it is not the best, but they provide information about Powell River, Lund, and the local area. Not all information is volunteered at first, but keep asking and they will pull out maps or brochures from under the counter. The information provided allowed us to see more of the sights around Lund and the local hikes around Powell River.Written July 24, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Nick B21 contributionsBeautiful little public park beside a lovely lake. Come down, bring your swim suit. There's cliffs to jump off into the water, an area to swim in without being disturbed by boats. The water is crystal clear.
Not many amenities here, but there is a public washroom.Written August 13, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
