- pennyforNanaimo, Canada115 contributionsTribune Bay Provincial Park is very pretty. Nice beach for swimming and sunning. Some short but pretty trails. Please don’t leave a mess and please don’t come to Hornby without accommodations or camping already reserved. There’s no place to just pullover and camp. That’s not cool. Otherwise, enjoy the beach!Written January 17, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Mark WNanaimo, Canada23 contributionsNice walk, it says it takes 1.5 hours to complete, we did it in 1 hour walking casually stopping periodically for picture takingWritten August 30, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mark WNanaimo, Canada23 contributionsThe tents were well equipped, and very spacious. The views were amazing, I am surprised there are not more tents... they would sell out for sure. The cider was good, Jerry was very nice as well as the tall dude with the headband, he was also very nice. The kitchen area is a bonus, but the pizza oven ruined a pizza...burnt the bottom and did not cook the top...one of the owners thought we were burning the kitchen down...lol.
Big Jer the chef needs to smile more and be friendlier... our burgers were not cooked thru and my wife returned hers for another one,... even with this very small hiccup I cannot wait to be invited back !!!
Super windy a couple of the nights....so keep lighter items in vehicle or tent.Written August 30, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Seemed to be the case, after a lengthy, and tasty, tasting! Loved the fish pond, chickens and whole rural vibe.Written April 19, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jenn L73 contributionsThis market has everything from great food to locally made arts and crafts. It is close to the grocery store (Co-Op) on the island so super easy to pop by. It is also close to the main beach. Not that anything on Hornby Island is very far away.Written September 11, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Spyhopper12Sooke, Canada257 contributionsStopped at Carbrea although since it has changed ownership, it is now called Lerena. Enjoyed some tasting of all they had to offer and ended up buying 3 to take home. Lady doing the tastings was very knowledgeable and friendly. Great way to spend an afternoon.Written August 31, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Colton HComox, Canada1 contributionOver the summer I went to visit the winery and the friendly staff helped me to pick out a bottle of their Black Portamento. There's not enough words to express how good it was! My friends and I tried it straight, then later drizzled on apple pie. In both cases the flavor of the local blackberries was sweet and strong, but not overpowering. We finished the bottle in no time and I can't wait to get more!Written September 17, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - hiredBellyVancouver, Canada34 contributionsSadly, the Cardboard House Bakery has ceased operation, at least for now. There may be occasional special events held in its garden but the bakery, pizzeria and coffee shop are no longer, at least for now.Written August 6, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CeejCeejCanada19 contributionsLovely stop! We were visiting friends on Hornby and they suggested we zip up to the meadery. We sampled the flights and quite enjoyed the varied flavours. The information was so interesting and the gentleman serving our group of 4 adults + 1 toddler was awesome. I recommend the tasting flight! They shop also carried some cute little pottery dishes for sale. There is a spacious deck and gorgeous garden and forest view - the meadery is at the top of a hill in the middle of the island.Written January 28, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
