Butchart Gardens is the number one tourist attraction in Victoria – every coach or cruise will include a visit here as part of the package, and it doesn’t disappoint.
The Gardens are stunning, and spread out over a huge area, so even on days when the car park is full you don’t feel hemmed in.
And the pictures you see, as good as they are, still don’t do it justice.
The attention to detail is superb, even the carparks are landscaped and attractive, and the maps and signage are first rate.
It’s a little out of town – 20-30 minutes drive, so, you will need your own car or a tour, but if you’re in Victoria without transport there are multiple tours and a regular shuttle just waiting right out the front of the Fairmont.
    An absolute must see.

A lovely afternoon. The views are lovely, but we could not see them from our table. The food was very good but it would’ve been very nice if they had cleared the table rather than cramming our dessert in any available space. The cider is lovely and more like a wine. The chairs were very uncomfortable and we were not able to get a pillow or something soft to sit on. Some attention to detail, for the comfort of their guests would be beneficial.

We stopped here on our way back from But hart gardens, on the number 75 bus which stops at the end of Beaver lake and the other end of Elk.
We swam, sunbathed and walked. Take your own food. The toilet block was being refurbished but there were portaloos.

Great beach, has facilities, and lots of room to spread out. Wonderful views of neighboring islands. Recommended!

Driving into the winery site, you’ll see their spectacular view! There’s nothing better than sitting in a chair sipping your wine and liquor samples while looking out at the ocean and islands. 3 samples and a water for $5, tastings free if you buy something. The ancient grains whiskey is fabulous! All their gins are delicious. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, welcoming, just the right amount of information given without being too sales-pitchy. They also sell other local products. We would definitely come back here and we recommend a stop at De Vine Vineyards!

As we were starting our drive back to the ferry, Don aid let's go in to the winery. We haven't done that since we lived in Oliver. So, away we go.

We were seated outside and our serve, Mike, has the greatest sense of humor and, ladies, he resembles George Clooney. We ordered our beverages and he explained the differences of their wine to Kelly so she could make a choice

We ordered a Charcuterie platter to share and it was lovely. Our server, Mike, took his time to explain the wines and it was a nice experience. Yes, we would go here again. It was most pleasant.

The hike was only about 10-15mins one way. We took the road trail up and the more rural-forger one back down. Easy uphill walk. The top had a great view!

On Sunday we arrived with a reservation but found the staff totally slammed with work.
We had to wait to be seated for about 10 minutes, then the same once we were seated.
The waitress was really good even though she was so busy and tried her best to serve us.
The food was well worth the wait and the atmosphere was beautiful. The gardens can be seen from every window and the gardens are spectacular.
    I would definitely go again.

We've had our horses stabled at Valle Vista for several years now. The barn management knows how to take care of them, they are very happy there. Location is great, right on the trail.

Wow! What fun it was to SAIL Seymour's boat by myself - with Seymour standing by! I was thrilled and filled with joy on my 3 hour experience. WhooHoo! Captain Seymour is a confident seasoned sailor, having sailed now for over 30 years. He has a great sense of humour and made me feel at home from the moment I met him at the top of the marina. We sailed in the harbour - it was quite windy and exciting! and then motored into a lovely breathtaking cove (Todd Inlet) where we saw 2 kayakers and a seal and a couple of beautiful boats anchored in the cove. Seymour put down the anchor for us, I put on my bathing suit and jumped in the ocean and swam to the nearby shore! Seymour was in the rowboat beside me all the way to make sure I was safe, and then we rowed back to the boat together. We then had a delicious vegan meal prepared by Seymour! It was so yummy! I highly recommend Seymour's Sailing the Saanich Inlet experience! Thank you Seymour! Two of my friends will be booking shortly! They're SO excited! Yay!
