We brought family this time for our 4th trip. This time we found the sunken garden which was lovely. The zoo was as clean and presentable as ever and the weather helped it be a super day out. The only gripe was the food offerings. Lots of queues at all the kiosks as the cafe was closed and the food hall exterior area could have been a bit better managed and cleaned. Will bring own food next time.

We took the Cathedral Heights tour at Chester Cathedral this morning. Emma was our guide. The tour was a highlight of our trip to Great Britain, and honestly the best cathedral tour we’ve done, and we’ve done more than our share! Even though we climbed to the highest point of the Cathedral, it was done in stages which made it a very easy climb. We highly recommend this wonderful hour + long tour!

We greatly enjoyed this return visit to Chester. This time one of the highlights was the time we spent in the Cathedral Gardens. They are beautiful, peaceful and dog friendly. It is a truly delightful place to visit. We were not in the city for our accommodation this time but chose to stay outside of Chester at the remarkable Pheasant Inn which is very old, just in a beautiful section of the countryside and provides a really good and reasonable place to eat all 7 days of the week. It is a very special place to stay and is a fairly easy trip into Chester itself.

Had a lovely stay here for Mother’s Day weekend. Lovely clean apartment in great location for everything in Chester. Highly recommended . Not suitable for disabled people due to steep stairs leading to , and inside apartment .

We live a short distance from this beautiful place and often take a family stroll along the riverbank either after a stroll down the high street or from the end of our road

Today was a perfect day to enjoy this beautiful view and after lunch in town burn off a few calories

A perfect way to take a relaxing break whatever the weather. Today was a sunny day and we strolled past two buskers and street artist and the two teenagers enjoying a Snugberrys Ice Cream

We sat on one of the many benches complete with my beautiful beloved Wife and family

    Highly recommended

Cannot miss it while walking the city wall. Very attractive, and always viewed by a crowd. Stop awhile, because of the crowd, take a photograph or two, because you must, and listen to the buskers below, who appear to favour this wall trekking bottle neck.

There's plenty to see in this free museum from Roman artefacts, a natural history room, an art gallery, a room full of silver cups etc and the most popular of all is a room showing how technology in our lives has advanced over the years. Best to visit as soon as it opens as it can get a bit busy there. I'd recommend coming here.

Very lucky to live in Chester and have this on our doorstep!!

Have been multiple times just with my wife and as a family with our two younger children (9&11) but finally getting around to leave a review.

On this occasion we went to see Great Gatsby as a b’day treat for my wife… We planned for rain but was blessed with a perfect summers night!

Packed some nibbles & plenty of bubbly. Pre-ordered a pizza that we collected at the interval to help soak up the booze.

    Great performance!!

    Tips.
    Preorder food if buying onsite
Recommend taking your own picnic & drinks
Pack an umbrella / waterproofs in case it rains…

This is about history of Chester military regiment. This is very interesting and show the history up to the present. The commitment of people for democracy and liberty.

This church is medieval and was the 1st and original Cathedral in Chester. It’s also the oldest building in Chester near the amphitheatre and is amazing. The organ was donated from Westminster abbey after Queen Victoria’s coronation (something to do with that) and is a Beautiful historic building. You don’t have to be religious to attend the services and can go inside the peaceful Lady Chapel for prayer or quiet time. The people who manage this church are made up of clergy and volunteers who work very hard to maintain it so all are welcome to visit. There’s a cosy cafe too which is very welcoming. Would definitely recommend getting in touch for a special event, a walk around or tour of the beautiful building or attending one of their services.
