I thought this day trip was absolutely fantastic and our guide, Chris, was a huge part of making sure the day was a smooth one. I loved getting to see Conwy Castle and the small town of Conwy — including “The Smallest House in Great Britain.” Snowdonia National Park was absolutely stunning. I found the city of Chester to be a bit underwhelming, but it’s tough for anything to follow the sights of Snowdonia.

Personally, I would have preferred 20 more minutes riding around Snowdonia and a bit less time in Chester, but I’m just being nit-picky. The trip included many sights and the commentary by Chris was superb.

For an authentic Welsh meal, I would highly recommend the “Welsh Rarebit” from Alpine Coffee Shop in Betws-y-Coed. Just make sure you’re a fan of lots of cheese!

Chris mentioned that we were running slightly behind schedule, but we made it back to Manchester at roughly 7:25pm. On a trip like this, it’s not possible to satisfy 100% of everyone’s preferences, but there was a clear effort to accommodate everyone’s vision for the day. Overall, it was wonderful and I recommend it highly.

We loved the Roman Soldier Guide, Rob…he was very knowledgeable and passionate, and he dressed as a soldier and explained his attire. We asked a lot of questions and he answered them all with ease. Do not hesitate taking this tour if you enjoy history, it will be a great foundation for your visit to Chester.

Really fun tour of the city which allows you to appreciate some of the less common sights and interesting facts. I love that we could do the tour at our own pace and by ourselves.

I'd love to see more tours from this company!

The only downfall is that Chester city centre signal is not great, it would be great if the game could be played offline (not sure if that's possible!)

I visited Sick to Death with my partner anticipating tacky haunted house infotainment, and that's exactly what I got.

The gory foam props of severed limbs and eviscerated bowels were charming, if a little worn from overeager handling by past customers. Good for photo ops!

A couple of the interactive exhibits were in a state of disrepair, which was a little disappointing; still, as a walk-through decorated with grisly medical tools and infographs about bubonic plague, it was entertaining enough to keep us happy for the 50 minutes or so it took for us to get from start to finish.

I took my parents who were visiting me from Spain on the tour to the Lake District and it was simply AMAZING.
Our tour guide Frank was so lovely, passionate, thoughtful, attentive and taught us many interesting facts and history points throughout the journey. This tour is everything that you could want from a tour. It’s interactive, comfortable, interesting, beautiful and you cover so many different gorgeous spots and places!
We took so many pictures and we are looking forward to going onto the next tour with Busy Bus either to Wales or Yorkshire.
    I definitely recommend them! :)

Thomas was fabulous. Absolutely knew his subject and clearly enthusiastic. Made the history really come alive. Great interaction. Happy to take questions and enter into conversation throughout his storytelling.
Definitely a tour to include on a trip to Chester. Thank you!

This is an effective way to get a lot of detailed information by listening and absorbing whilst in front of the places of interest. It worked well.

We had a wonderful tour with Gerry {Busy Bus Tours} to Chester from Liverpool. Gerry was very knowledgeable about all the history in Chester as well as on the trip from Liverpool. He did a walking tour with us on arriving in Chester pointing out the more interesting sites and telling us the history before giving us some time to explore things on our own. He was very accommodating to a disabled person on a scooter making sure she could see all she wanted to. Later, back in Liverpool, he was kind enough to drop me off at the post office so I could post my cards. Thank you, Gerry for a wonderful day!

If you want to visit many castles, this is the tour. Darren, our tour guide, had an impressive knowledge of the country and the sites. And the sheep...wow, they are everywhere. A caution for those with limited mobility - there were great distances to walk from the drop off point to the main attractions in some towns, often up steep inclines and cobbled streets, making it hard for those with limited mobility. We called a cab a few times to get back to the van on time.
