Our day was better than we expected it to be. Did not expect to be there as long but there was so much to do, we were there all day. It was definitely value for money. The grounds are magnificent and our grandson spend most of the day at the play park and was well entertained.

We ate at the cafe and the food was amazing. I am gluten free and often struggle but here I felt I was truly spoilt and enjoyed the treat of great food. Our grandson also enjoyed his meal. The staff in the restaurant were very polite and very cheerful and helpful.

I have only one complaint, which soured the day a little. I have a disability and after about half a mile trip from the cafe to the play park, the toilets were closed for half an hour for cleaning. The cleaning attendant was not very helpful, and quite abrupt when I arrived saying all the toilets were closed for cleaning including the disabled toilet. I tried to explain my difficulties but there was no compassion
, just an abrupt they are shut because they need to be done.
I felt this was not ok, as the toilet is next to a children’s play ground, who are unable to wait for half an hour. Maybe there could be a system where at least one toilet can be open while the others are cleaned. Or more toilets are available without the long walk back to the entrance. And even despite this, I feel staffs attitude should not be abrupt as they do not know what other people may be going through.

It is well worth a visit and value for money. I’d defo recommend the food.
Apart from this uncomfortable situation, we have a lovely day.

Great holiday at Whinfell. We stayed in the games 4 bed accommodation and it was fantastic and very clean.
The resort appears to be continually getting upgraded which is a great benefit, nothing looks old and outdated. The pool area and rides are fantastic.
Food is expensive to eat in the restaurants, although the quality is good and great service. Its just a pity its not a bit cheaper as we would have eaten out all the time. We were £190 for one nights dinner, which we can accept as a holiday treat, but we couldnt do that every meal time.
Only negative was the infra red sauna, it never seemed to heat up enough to enjoy it.

A beautiful experience being among such beautiful friendly donkeys. Most of them came over to say hello to me. Linda doing a wonderful job caring for these animals, most of whom arrived in very poor condition having been ill treated by previous owners. A must place to visit.

Stopped with family for lunch today 1st September. I have to say the soup was lovely (Pea and Mint) and the selection of herbal teas was also very good. Toilet facilities were clean and fresh and parking was ample, my only observation would be more disabled bays would be ideal.
Finally your serving colleagues were effective, efficient and friendly and would certainly recommend RHEGED as a pitstop enrolee to or from the National Park.

Worth a visit when you’re nearby, if only to puzzle why prehistoric people built it (and other stone circles). Easy to park and free entry.

Lovely stop at Acorn Bank to stretch our legs en route from Scotland to England, conveniently located just off the A66. House from exterior very impressive and woodland walks and gardens great. Lots of apples on the trees at present which visitors can purchase, along with apple trees. Tasty iced coffee from the snack van. Great little stop!

It was built by Ralph Neville to defend the English from Scottish invasions. It was later turned into a palace for Richard III. It is now a large ruin, located in a city Park. There is parking at the rail station across the road.

Our first visit and we were very impressed by the whole set up. Took 2 grandchildren aged 1 and 4 who were both enthralled by the experience.
Had pre show Coffee and superb Cake in the excellent on site Restaurant. Then sat back to enjoy a very professional puppet show - Jack and the Beanstalk. Met Jack and his friends and had an enjoyable Q&A session to finish.
Will be back and wholeheartedly recommend

Enjoyed our tour but it was a bit too long and we missed having something to eat at the cafe. We would like to visit again and look at the garden as it was raining when we visited.
