- packedandready2goCalifornia1,036 contributionsWe took the full day tour of the Lake District which was fantastic. tin was a great tour guide. the tours take place in a nice modern minivan with speakers in front of each passenger so one can clearly hear the guide. Our guide, Tim,did an excellent job. His commentary was informative and interesting. We stopped at many of the lakes, took a boat ride, visited Wordsworth's grave, stopped at the famous gingerbread store and enjoyed the fantastic scenery. - Liv5 contributionsMy 3 day Lake District Explorer tour with Rabbies was wonderful! I was the only person booked on so was lucky enough to be personally escorted by Keith and Grahame. The sites were absolutely stunning and Keith is a brilliant driver with a wealth of knowledge and experience. I felt thoroughly looked after from start to finish and couldn’t recommend Rabbies enough! If you’re keen to explore a new place as a solo traveller then don’t hesitate to book - you’ll be in great hands. Thank you Keith and Grahame for making my trip so memorable and enjoyable! Gillian and Sandra made a great team with lots of interesting history and showed us lovely highlights of the region. We could have just stayed in the lovely lake district and stared at the beauty of the hills and water forever. This area of England is vast, lovely and amazing.
Without a guide, such as Simon, one would certainly be driving around in traffic and missing the views.
Simon is not only knowledgeable of the region, he really seems to enjoy the location himself. Simon's love of the area was not missed on this tour.
We saw all of the lakes, and explored some history, shopped in the small village of Hawkshead, hiked to a waterfall and were constantly wowed by the views!
Simon was kind enough to take us to a market at the tour's end to purchase some needed items.
