The volunteers are keen to show you around the very interesting exhibitions, varying from Raleigh bicycles to lace making machines and the first grand horse drawn carriages dating from 1699, plus lots more.
Its well worth £5 and an hour of your time, with some fascinating moving / working exhibits with knowledge volunteers running them, go experience really history, well worth a visit.

We found that this was a most interesting museum, every one made us feel very welcome and with the knowledgable guide plus the visual displays , all for the price of £4 per adult this certainly was a "Good Find".T...
I have family history connections to the area but I think they capture a moment in Industrial history - and if you are interested in that (or are about to visit Derwent Valley Mills UNESCO site like I was) its a m...
The National Videogame Museum Sheffield, UK 0.7 km away
#6 of 26 Museums in Sheffield
Its based on 4 levels, lots of amazing games, interactive, fun, retro games like Donkey kong, space invaders, alongside some new stuff.
Took two 9 year old boys, who were fully entertained all day, from open to close and tbh, so was I. Lots of old nostalgic games, arcades, bit of programming examples to play on and cabinets of stuff to look at.

The experience was greatly enhanced by the wonderful curator, Julie, whose detailed knowledge was an insightful treasure trove.
The information boards, plus a short video, are informative and the whole museum is beautifully curated by Julie.

I started going to The Haunted Museum last year around June and quickly fell in love with the idea of it, since then I've had the great pleasure to watch the building grow with new attractions and exhibits being b...
Canalside Heritage Centre
#10 of 23 Museums in Nottingham
This is great little museum, full of canal history, staffed by friendly, welcoming, enthusiastic staff serving simple fare (light lunches, breakfast and afternon teas) which are truly scrumptious.
Easy access to both the canal and Trent, great for walks, lovely heritage centre with cafe and local goods for sale.
The Robin Hood Experience
#12 of 23 Museums in Nottingham
The Robin hood legacy is a marvellous place for children, the rooms are entertaining and engaging, the archery and craft activities kept my two busy, and the characters we met were so much fun to talk to.
It is also very informative about Robin Hood and has an excellent collection of Robin Hood memorabilia!
The Lace Market Centre
#16 of 23 Museums in Nottingham
Although there is relatively little pertaining to the rich history of lace making associated with Nottingham which is a bit of a lost opportunity for the city the area that constitutes the Lace Making district is...
