I last journeyed on the Vale of Rheidol when it was in British Rail hands and it is vastly improved. The intermediate stations are very well cared for and you can use them to be picked up or if you speak to the engine driver you can be dropped off. One of the stations is ideal for pine marten sitings. The Aberystwyth end is undergoing rapid improvements and changes. At Devils Bridge a nice little cafe is present and an excellent Vincent Trust centre with details of Pine Marten conservation. The journey is superb and even quite scary as you are very close to a vertical drop for some distance. A particular highlight was the large number of Red Kites. It's a good length of journey with an hour or so at the terminus.

Great experience- staff on train was very polite and good explanation on what was to do at top- when u get to top there is a small ten pin bowling (small balls and only 2 lanes) there is small indoor soft play area and pool table there is crazy golf - frisbee golf - and a small restaurant- the restaurant was amazing food was quick and really nice. And the views where simply stunning defo worth the trip up to see and we chose to walk back down my only critique is there should of been some kind of handrail as it was steep!!! Any kind of disability make sure u go up and down on the train

I recently traveled to Wales with family members to trace our roots. Richard went above and beyond to ensure that our trip provided all the experiences we were hoping for. In one town he arranged for us to meet with the vicar for a church that was likely where our ancestors worshipped and view old tomes of death records looking for clues to our family's past. In another town, he made arrangements for a visit to a home where relatives had lived.
We spent 5 days touring the country with Richard and can't say enough about his skills as a guide. His enthusiasm for the country is infectious and his knowledge is extensive. Plus he's a delight to spend time with!

The tour was perfect, the tour guide was friendly and very knowledgeable of the surrounding with some access to some areas. Me, my wife and kids had a great time.

We massively enjoyed our command task/ paintball activities followed by blind ball games and finished off with 3 holes of footgolf. Colin, Christian and family were brilliant and the lunch was delicious. Worth a trip off the main drag to find this picturesque quiet gem. Thanks

I was concerned about my fitness and the hills of West Wales. As my partner had a bike already I hired a bike from Crys Melin (yellow jersey I'm told). Scott the owner recommended an E-bike. Wow, thank you Scott my partner couldn't keep up with me on his superbike.
Scott was so helpful, he had a range of bikes and delivered it to me. The Trek bike I hired came with a pannier that contained all the safety equipment need to repair a puncture and a helmet. The bike had a motor that had 3 modes and Scott assured me it would get me up any hill and go for 60 miles. The bike he told me was capable of road biking and even some rough gravel surfaces. He gave us a thorough rundown of how the bike operated and also gave us a map of some OS printed routes that he and locals do themselves.
We opted for a 30-mile route around Nant Y Moch, a reservoir that supplies a hydroelectric power station and we were so glad we did. Such a beautiful ride with amazing views with lunch at the red kite centre. The route was a lot more remote than expected but that made it more enjoyable. Scott had given us the security of his contact number and said if there were any issues at all just to call him and we would have someone there to help us. The homemade Welshcakes he put in the pannier for us was an extra bonus when we stopped to admire the dam.
A great experience made all the more enjoyable by a great team that Crys Melin is.. Bikes were delivered and collected by Scott and we even met his lovely family. They are a small local business that I would highly recommend and use again.

    Thank you
    .

Sorry for taking so long to post a review

My wife bought me a paddle boarding session with Mike in early September.

It turned out to be a windy day but I thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon with Mike on the Dovey estuary. It was my first time paddle boarding and I'm hooked and will definitely call on him again.

Mike was easy going, incredibly knowledgeable and great fun. We're regular visitors to Wales and will definitely look him up again to arrange our outdoor activities.

Many thanks and see you again

Brilliant day out, everything included (bike, jacket, trousers, helmet, boots and bike) just needed a debit card for lunch.

The Honda CRF250 are amazing, not too big or heavy but amazing what they can do, I am a complete novice in terms of trail riding.

Marianne and Colin are amazing guides, must know the area like the back of their hands.

Full day, left Trailride Wales HQ at 10 and didnt get back till 6pm, great value

Cannot recommend highly enough, going back next year to try the more advanced trails
