When in Edinburgh it’s a must right? We were lucky as the weather was nice on the day of the hike. It had been raining heavily the day before so we were hesitant thinking it would be wet and slippy on the way up but it wasn’t! The views from the top are amazing and I’m glad we did it. I’m a novice hiker but I found this climb quiet easy but as you get to the top it can be quiet challenging. I’d recommend a good pair of shoes!

Me and my two children (21 and 13) visited here as we had a few hours to spare before our flight home. It’s free entry, and £3 for a cabin sized locker, which was so convenient for us to use.

They are both mad about animals, so we strictly stuck to the animal section which was one end of the building over three floors. I also wanted to explore the Covid vaccine exhibition, which was really informative.

There are lifts for those less mobile, and the toilets were clean.

The staff were so friendly and helpful.

A great insight into history if you like that sort of thing. There are plenty of things to look at and examine if you have the time.

I had done the silver tour twice in the past (first time 2 years ago) and they were so amazing that whisky is now my go to drink! I recently had the opportunity to do the gold tour and of course it did not disappoint, you learn so much here and the gold tour is perfect if you’re looking to try a whisky you may not have tried before. Huge shoutout to my tour guide Laura who is so knowledgeable and really made the experience memorable, she was open to any questions and the tour was so smoothly done!
