We just got back from a trip to Ireland. While in Cong we did Ashford equestrian and went on the boat tour. The horseback riding was amazing, and we had the most beautiful horses. I do wish we (or I, the other guest in my party was a beginner) could have had an opportunity to move a little faster, or do more than walk on, but no worries. We were on the biggest horses I have ever ridden and they were great (though a bit hungry for snacks at every branch). We saw so much of the property that we would have missed, too lazy or cold to walk that far on foot. Our horse handler was kind and took photos for us with the castle behind us when I asked.
The boat ride was incredible too- Captain Patrick has a wealth of historical information that he shared with the guests. He is second generation in this position, so he really knows it all, as he grew up on these boat tours with his father. Mr. O'Brien was full of great information as well and provided phenomenal service to the guests in the lower level (warm drinks, great stories, and a good time). The two make a super team, and we are so lucky we were able to catch their hour long tour. I highly recommend it- for the information and the incredible views you can't see on land.
