What travellers are saying
- MidwestKathMDetroit, MI1,086 contributionsStrolling through the Palais Royale neighborhood, we stopped in to walk through the Galerie Vivienne early one weekday morning. This is a covered mall constructed in 1823. The mosaic tile flooring is exquisite! And signed by the Italian artist...G. Facchina, Mosaicist! A skylight sits overhead. There are interesting shops within...manuscripts and books, home goods, clothing, food, and more. For the photographer, there are interesting shots to be taken!Written June 30, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - frankuk19215 contributionsIn the city only exist this store at Le Marais, even having been some times and if I return or not, reevaluating the overall experience such as products' diversity, brands, prices, staff attention, place in general, location, food-drinks services, and after a deep analysis about quality over payment, for "Grands Magasins" recently visited, my really objective, honest and reasonable rating perhaps should be 4/5 and could be 3rd in my personal ranking. Sorry if doesn't match the others' criteria.Written July 16, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Melanie WHengoed36 contributionsGreat variety of shops that you would find on the Champs Elysees. The mall is in 2 sections and we found the Galerie Lafayette side a little dated. Still well worth a visit though.Written April 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- raiderfraBelfast, UK71 contributionsInteresting building though in need of some renovation. Shops are rather mixed from high end boutiques to down market rather grotty units.Written October 20, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We did not buy anything, but enjoy window shopping.Written October 4, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RumplesTucson, AZ11,708 contributionsIn December, a friend took us to this open-air passage that had recently opened in the 7th Arrondissement with a focus on food. In an expensive neighborhood, it links rue de Grenelle and rue du Bac and boulevard Raspail. We entered through a long, narrow corridor that features "Traversee," a 2018 art installation by Eva Jospin. On one side, the work displays a tangle of wood, branches, twigs, roots and cardboard trunks. A long mirror on the opposite wall reflects the piece.
Inside the passage, buildings displayed various architectural styles, from 18th century to modern. Holiday decorations glittered and newly planted trees offered the promise of shade someday. Sculptures waited to be inspected. But the food shops and places to eat are what quickly captured our attention. Menu boards by various restaurants listed the lunch specials, in an attempt to entice the few people there at 2 p.m. on a weekday to enter. We had already eaten, but wanted to see what establishments might be worth returning to on another day.
Renowned pastry chef Pierre Herme has opened his first cafe here, and that looked promising. A fan of Mersea, I was happy to see its sign for casual street seafood. Tempting cheeses looked out from the new branch of Fromagerie Barthelemy, one of the most expensive cheese shops in Paris. Carrefour City stood ready with groceries and snacks for those on the go. And so it went until we came to Thierry Max Bakery. That's when we decided to duck in for some relief from the cold winter day. Tasty croissants and rich coffee there hit the spot.
During our visit, the pleasant passage exuded newness. It seemed like a wonderful place for neighborhood residents but not an attraction I would have sought out if not for the interest of our friend. In warmer weather, I assume the space would be much more lively, especially with the addition of customers at the outside tables. But I doubt that we would make a cross-town trip here again, though we would not hesitate to stop by if we happened to be in the vicinity.Written May 25, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We followed the Louvre website suggested itinerary for seeing the highlights. That took about an hour and a half and when we were finished we went on our own to the Crown Jewels exhibit. It is exciting to see famous works of art. It is exhausting to maneuver around the immense palace.Written September 27, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Scott W6 contributionsIt was pouring rain and took shelter sort of randomly. Decided to eat dinner. Had one of the nots Chef Specials. Amazing. This was the kind of meal one hopes to encounter in France. A place with locals serving amazing food, fresh ingredients, professional with pretension staff and at a great value. For $35 E we both had a remarkable pork medallions entree wrapped in filo dough and separated by a thin shaving of pork belly. It was highlighted by a delicate pork broth-based, sherry cream sauce to die for. Add fresh long green beans and in house middle eastern, cheese infused flat bread, and a glass of house wine....I am still smiling thinking about it.
The interior is clean and stylish. Their is both indoor and patio seating and also a small bar area which clearly was filled with locals who have regular relationship with the staff making for a friendly but very professional environment.
A deal and an amazing meal!Written August 17, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There's a large parking spaces and almost all the shoppers are locals. The supermarket carries a wide range of groceries, seafood, fruits, meats, veggies, wine and liquor etc. Prices are reasonable and some are quite cheap.
What is popular is the bakery at the side, where people queue up to get their staples like pastries and breads. They are nice and reasonably priced based on the quality!
From our hotel, we walked about 35mins to reach here (actually is about 10~15mins from Halles Market which we visited first before coming by here).
I will share the pics of this place once this review is approved as TA does not allow the first reviewer to upload photos. I am not sure why.Written July 11, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
