True to old French fashion, the hotel we stayed in didn’t have lifts, it only has one spiral staircase. I understand this is Paris but not having the option for elevators makes travelers do the hard work of carrying the heavy suitcases. So, before you book a hotel or an airbnb, check if there’s a lift.. that is if, you’re like me with a chronic back pain which makes lifting things unbearable.
I would recommend getting on a hop—on, hop-off bus on your first day if it’s your first time. The bus would take you around the famous attractions so it would be easier for you to navigate around.. once you have gone through the tourists go-to, try the food and do some shopping.. Samaritaine is located right across Luis Vuitton and is a great shopping center. Try it!
Btw, around the Eiffel tower, you can get your photos taken and have it printed out like an old press, newspaper-like style, for free. A small donation would be enough. Watch out for these lovely ladies carrying huge, old fashioned cameras.
In most restaurants and some bakeshops, croissants are served for breakfast only, that’s until 1100H, however, there are some which serves it whole day long. Eric Kayser shop serves a wide variety of pastries and coffee.
I spent a good 3 days in Paris only. Overall, my experience in Paris was a good one! Dint experience the dreaded pick pockets! 😀 but ALWAYS make sure to be on your guard especially when boarding or walking around the metro. I’ve experienced angry people just spewing angry French words at each other inside the metro and it’s causing a commotion. Make sure to put your bags in front of you and protect it all the time.
I still have a lot to explore in France and would want to go back for more.
