We really enjoyed our walk down both sides of the River Seine, some lovely areas to stop and sit and watch the boats...

A beautiful day would be to take a canal boat tour, then plan to picnic or enjoy a cafe after.

Great way to see many sites of Paris
Yes, worth doing, as you can see so much the river is amazing. You should book it near sunset as it get very pretty with the sunset.

Canal Saint Martin boat trip
Took a boat from the jetty opposite Musee d'Orsay along the Seine and into the Canal Saint Martin and the first of its multiple lock gates. Views along the river are always great, but I'd never been along the canal. Great commentary added to this wonderfully interesting trip. The covered sections of the canal and the history behind this were fascinating. The later sections of the boat ride (I took the 1 way trip) were through parts of Paris I hadn't visited before, so a few hours after getting off of the boat led to more happy wandering and exploring. I would recommend this trip.

A huge expanse of water, that is part of the canal, it is enjoyable to walk around. there are many activities available, like boats rides, lovely cafes to enjoy, as well as leafy seating areas.

Pleasant and interesting walk
We did a circuit of Lac Daumesnil with its two islands of Bercy and Reuilly. The two islands are joined by a bridge but the only access point is via Ille de Reuilly. There are boats for hire at one end of the lake. Le Grand Pagode was closed for visiting. We stopped at an old-fashioned restaurant on Ille due Reilly for drinks - Chalet des Iles Daumesil - which was quite pleasant and also enjoyed the Temple Romantique de Ille due Reilly which has a grotto underneath. It was a pleasant and interesting walk. I gather that this lake may also be considered part of the Bois de Vincennes.

Beautiful lake
While having long walk in Paris, it was beautiful stretch since the weather was a bit cold in March there

Lovely waterway......
Located at the top of the canal, is this lovely area, we especially like it as, the Marche de Joinville, is in the vicinity.

Adding to the ambiance
Directly in front of the palace is the Grand Basin, a large octagonal pond upon which we have seen (during a summer visit) model boats being sailed. There are the iconic, green park chairs, surrounding the pond, which there are plenty of, however it does get busy around lunch time, we love the ones that recline.
