Though you can be completely distracted with the beautiful dancers, if you observe closely, the lighting and effects and the stage equipment all work seamlessly to create an exceptional show. I was so glad to see they served Moet champagne as opposed to some other type. And the little bites were a nice touch as well. The entire cast was amazing. Would love to know the name of the song sung in french in the pre-show as I really enjoyed the tempo and the way it was presented. Dinner was really nice. The girls were all very beautiful, sexy, in fantastic shape and performed very well individually and as a group. The skits were creative, if anything negative we prefer the more upbeat skits vs the slower ones. The drinks as other reviews noted as expensive, but i am not surprised by it. The entry and exit was organized so no waiting. Interesting to watch the models on the runway - the mom in me wanted to tell them all to stand up straight! But I guess this is the way of high fashion now. The clothes were indeed beautiful, and it was a very enjoyable afternoon, something most tourists are unaware of. As a film student, it is not only a fabulous way to broaden my horizon of French films, but it also allows me to connect with other expats in Paris and improve my French language skills. I have met so many wonderful friends through this program, and it is a pleasure to have something to look forward to each week. Screenings are shown in multiple cinemas across Paris with English subtitles, so it is easily accessible for everyone. The experience starts with ordering a drink and enjoying the courtyard of a 5* hotel.
We were then escorted to our seats, and Celine gave us (family of 4, 2 kids) front row seats.
The show is AMAZING. It is an experience, out of today's world and back 150/200years ago.
Laurent was absolutely fantastic throughout. between what he does, and how he narrates the evening (and was switching French/ English for us and others in the audience).
Several members in the audience were invited to participate in various acts.
Frankly, you will wish that the show would last longer.
At the end, we were surprised : apparently, there were descendants of R Houdin in the audience and Laurent and his staff were all emotional at the honor.
Champagne was served at the end and Laurent, Celine ,.. worked the crowd.
This is not a cheap show, but it is well worth it as what you will experience is very far from being cheap. Quite the opposite actually. You will feel like a gentleman and his lady, attending a special evening in a different era.
