This is a great museum with a lot of art.I can say it’s the best museum I’ve ever been to.A great experience to see different art from different cultures in one place.

While all of the exhibits in the museum are great, the two Monet rooms with his large water lilly panels are well worth the price of admission on their own. Some of the most striking artwork I have ever seen.

Popped to the gardens to see the Olympic flame, but it seems to be ticketed unfortunately. Nice to see from a distance but the gardens themselves are a bit busy right now.

    PROS
    * This is the first section- very nice and scenic
    * Touristy stuff: Louvre Museum, Tuileries Garden, Sainte-Chapelle and parts of the Seine River

    CONS
One doesn't know that one is in number one when one is in number one

    "I VISITED THIS PLACE"...
... because it has the stuff listed above, which I have already reviewed her separately and previously

    WAS IT WORTH THE COST?
Being in the first arrondissement is free

WOULD "I VISIT THIS PLACE" AGAIN/
    Sure

    ADVICE
You will probably be here and not even know it

One of the most important squares in Paris, not because of its beauty/architecture, but for its historic significance.

It's a must-visit on your way from Place de la Concorde to Grands Boulevards. That being said, the square itself isn't much more than its obelisk at the center. However, there are plenty of fancy high-end stores all around.

I discovered this place from instagram. I was curious about the black and white columns and I discovered all the rest of the garden. Very relaxing place in the center of the city

    PROS
    * This is extremely well- located in the very center of Paris
    * It marks the very historical exact location of the guillotine of the French Revolution of 1789
    * Large and impressive archeological artifact from ancient Egypt, festooned with hieroglyphics

    CONS
    * In the middle of a horrendous and constantly busy hectic traffic circle area
    * Difficult to access and be close next to it
    * The area seems to always be under some kind of construction

    "I VISITED THIS PALCE"
... because it is so central and historic and iconic. On this visit, I didn't try to get onto the island where the obelisk stands.

    WAS IT WORTH THE COST?
It is a free public area

WOULD 'I VISIT THIS PLACE" AGAIN?
Sure- after all, it's very central

    ADVICE
    * Go and admire the obelisk
    * Try to get close, but be careful from heavy and hectic traffic

One of our daughters who lives here wanted to pay it a visit. As she’s under 25 she got in free. For my wife and I it was €14 each. Some interesting exhibits inside, but did it reasonably quickly. Worth a look, but wouldn’t bother going a second time.

    PROS
    * This an amazing miniature version of the more famous Arc de Triomphe that sits at the center of the Etoile circle.
    * This one has tremendous sculptures of horse and warriors on its top.
    * Great and famous location
    * Historical monument

    CONS
    * Completely covered and near totally obscured due to renovation

    "I VISITED THIS PLACE"...
... after walking from Musee d'Orsay across Pont Royal and towards the Louvre and then continuing into Le Marais. That was at night. Later in the week, I passed it when I walked from the louvre through the Tuilleries Garden and on to visit Musee de l'Orangerie.

    WAS IT WORTH THE COST
    It is free

WOULD "I VISIT THIS PLACE" AGAIN?
Sure, and hopefully without the scaffolding of restoration work

    ADVICE
    * If and when you are in the area, be sure to see this place

Surprise. While waiting for something else, my eye fell upon this building, which appeared to be the Hotel de la Marine, completely renovated and only open since 2021. Fascinating interior and a great view over part of Paris from the balcony. There are various tours. We took the tour with the salons, the shortest one. A very nice surprise.

A nice shopping and cafe street in the 1st arrondissement. Many luxury brands are here. Just next to the Lourve and Opera house, so you can mix shopping pleasure with culture

This is the gem of France's theatres and a must go-to if you visit Paris. it is a classic. I went to see Tartuffe last week and did not regret it. Try to book in d=advance if you go as a family or group but, if you are alone you can find cheaper last-minute tickets on the day of the play.

This has always been the business side of the Seine, not the university, not religious. The food markets were established here and then lots of merchants of various sorts. Now you find banks and offices. But also the Louvre, the Opera House lots of hotels and amazing neighborhoods like the Marais. Endless culture. Endless excitement. Endless fashion.

A very nice experience. A small but pretty museum. Much depends of course on the exhibitions. While we were there there was an exposition with works from Chantal Akerman (not so much my cup of tea) and Tina Barney, which I enjoyed very much.
