We went to the cemetery solely with the intention of visiting Jim Morrison’s grave but we were so amazed with the beauty and tranquility of the whole place. It’s quite big and goes uphill with some uneven stones. It’s remarkably peaceful, relaxing and plenty of opportunities to sit down and watch the world go by/gather your thoughts.
If visiting Jim, he is in plot 30 on the map, which is in zone 6. We found his grave really easy to find and on a warm, summer Sunday morning there was a slow and steady trail of visitors which didn’t make the visit too overwhelming.
Whilst we were there we also took a stroll a little further up the hill to Oscar Wilde’s resting place and Edith Piaf too.
A lovely place. Highly recommended if you want to look at some unique testing places and pay your respects.
We approached from Ranelagh metro station so we had a nice walk through the park. Good welcome and the lockers were useful so we could enjoy the exhibits unencumbered. Good range of artworks and the temporary sporting exhibition was very good. We came for the impressionists and were not disappointed. Worth a visit, not necessarily one we would feel the need to visit twice
A really quirky, wonderful experience. It’s hard to describe the museum - it’s a beautiful event venue filled with fairground antiques and curiosities.
Our tour guide was exceptional. A real showman, he made our visit. We were prepared for the tour to be in French with an English handout but the guide kindly summarised the stories ‘for his English friends’ at each point.
The museum is one of a kind - it’s visually stunning, informative and fun. We loved having a go at the race horse pinball game and pedalling the bike carousel. We learnt so much about the history of fairgrounds. Highly recommend.
This museum is not as popular as Louvre, but you can’t miss it! It’s free of charge, but the collection is really impressive. There are two levels, each of them includes modern art pieces and some works of famous sculptors and artists. You can take a map near the main entrance. There is also a cafe and a beautiful garden (however, I don’t think that our coffee was worth the price).
What a beautiful park this is, an old gypsum quarry transformed into a stunning park. It is a National park and so free of charge to enter. There are some magnificent specimen trees as you meander along the paths. During our three days in Paris following Disney we visited this park twice.
A beautiful mansion, now a museum with quite a history background. It is next to the lovely Parc Monceau and well worth your visit. The day I was there there were only 3 other people- such a nice experience after so many lovely but crowded museums
Don’t be fooled by the outside, it’s way bigger on the inside. Some of the treasures more than 4000 years old. Throughout this amazing museum what I noticed was a strong beliefs of the devil and Christianity which was clearly depicted in their art. A quick note, it’s free on a Sunday. They have their own cafe which leads out onto this majestic courtyard of yesteryears. At the end of the museum, as always was a gift shop quite pricy. Highly, highly recommend a visit.
We like modern art and famous architecture. The Louis Vuitton Fondation exhibition was therefore the perfect place for a visit. We liked everything. The building. The park. The exhibition and the art. Really a great place.
A “foodies paradise” and must stop. Fill up with fresh produce, cheese, chocolate, baked goods and more. Next time in Paris, I might just stay at an Air b&b just to take full advantage of this treasure.
After my self-guided tour of the Opéra Garnier, I went to the nearby free museum: Musée de Perfume de Fragonard, It was so interesting to learn about the scent combinations of different herbs and to see the demonstration of the Fragonard perfume production process. You can also purchase different scents of Fragonard perfume, eau de cologne and soaps in tbd shop on the first floor.
We spent a good 3 - 4 hours in this museum today & loved it.
There is a wonderful array of exhibits which covered the history of all sorts of inventions & industrial devices- coming from the 15th century to today.
The highlights for us were the 2nd floor with the Scientific Instruments & Materials galleries - and the ground floor / church which housed transport exhibits all the way from a Model T to a F1 race car.
The museum is in a lovely old building & the church has spectacular stained glass windows.
It is a quiet museum- we went on a Wednesday morning & there wouldn’t have been more than 10 - 15 visitors, and we seemed to be the only foreign visitors.
I highly recommend this museum & thoroughly enjoyed our visit
I am usually not that into this kind of museums, but... this one is super if you want to know the history of Paris from the neolithic times to now. It is also much bigger than I thought.
Gorgeous! If you've been to the High Line in NYC this feels similar. It's much smaller, but worthwhile to visit. Best time of year might be springtime.
