Must go to place if you are in the area. Beers are exceptional and Nicos food truck is unbelievably good. (Nuggets to die for). Superb all round Brewery. Excellent staff and very friendly.
Everyone made to feel welcome. Best Brewery in France.

In a lovely setting with excellent hospitality, we enjoyed a week of Recorder music making under the direction of Ian Wilson. There are lovely walks nearby to stretch the legs a little.

This is a very small museum devoted to the art of making chocolate and sugar sculptures. It is located in the heart of the bastide town, Cordes-sur-Ciel.

Please note that this museum is not a destination museum but a fun activity if you are visiting the picturesque town in which it is located. It is also one of the few things that is open during the off-season, should you be visiting during the winter or early spring.

For the price of admission, you can go through the series of exhibits as part of a self-guided tour. Exhibits are located in two moderately sized rooms. If you watch tons of baking shows, this is the place for you. The sculptures are detailed and ornate, most of which have a card explaining how long it took to complete them. It makes you appreciate how painstaking some of the creations were (admittedly, I would not have the patience to attempt any of them).

You also receive a tasting when finished. There is a small seating area to enjoy them, which is separate from the gift shop. The gift shop has lots of different types of chocolate truffles and a signature biscuit which was created (but previously forgotten) in the area.

Staff speaks English and French, and tour information is provided in multiple languages.

My husband and I arrived from Conques and parked near Jardin du Paradis. We should have followed Trip Advisor and Micheline guides and park near Port de la Jane. From our parking place, we had a steep walk to reach the top. St Michel church is worth the climbing, much nicer than expected. You must visit the interior to admire its ceilings.

This historic covered marketplace dates back centuries. There are several bar restaurants on the square for you to enjoy relax and enjoy the history, views and refreshments.

Having spent a week in Cordes sur Ciel and the area for a wedding this July, one of the highlights were a couple of visits to the centrally situated Cave St Michel. The owner Francis (and his daughter Charlotte), were very knowledgeable and extremely helpful with an extensive selection of wines from the region (in addition to a number of organic wines) and more standard wines from further afield. Tasting events were available ( although sadly I could not make any). Great little shop, lovely atmosphere and first class service. Definitely worth a visit or two during your stay, and look out for the resident Parson Russell Terrier at lunch times.

This was one of the highlights of my recent trip to SW France. The Musee d'Art Moderne et Contemporain is located on 4 floors of an old building right in the center of historic Cordes-sur-Ciel. It has an astonishing variety of artwork some of which has been created in and around the town by the many artists who have spent time there. I cannot recommend this museum highly enough. If you were wondering if you should go to Cordes-sur-Ciel or some other bastide I would say the museum alone is worth the trip and the town is also lovely.

One of the many lovely streets of Cordes sur Ciel. Cobbled and steep but great to walk around and enjoy the history of the town.
