I've been coming here for twenty years and it never fails to impress, though has become undeniably touristy in recent years. In summer months, expect plenty of instagramming couples on the main bridge. That said, the church remains well worth a visit for its commanding vistas (1 euro charge, only accepts cash) and stunning interior (free of charge). You can rent a boat or take a guided boat tour around. Main tourist area is Port Grimaud I, but also visit Port Grimaud II and Port Grimaud III if you can for a crowd-free insight into the lives of the (ridiculously)moneyed people who live here.
Worth a visit when on the Golfe de Saint Tropez.

Evocative and untouristy ruins. Grimaud village itself is very charming with sweeping vistas of the Golfe De Saint tropez from its small, bougainvillea-draped alleyways. Full of charm

Such a nice place! Our three years old was delighted to ride a pony among the vineyards, and we loved the stroll. The tiny animal farm was nice. The staff was very friendly, and so attentive to covid-related actions: EVERYTHING was disinfected, from the playground to horse saddles and riding caps.
We could not try the restaurant since they were expecting a large group, but we'll go back.

We took our motorhome to Port Gremaud in the south of France and was sited just 30 metres from the beach.
The beach was cleaned every day and the water was warm. Not the biggest of beaches but nice nevertheless.

Do take sturdy shoes and mosquito repellent (if in summer) and don’t take anyone who doesn’t have the constitution or strong ankles to cope with steepish Steps with no railing or a bit of loose shale and rocky footpaths. There is also a bit of mild clambering over rocks.
We’re 66 and we managed it (but we are gym goers).
Anyway, all this aside i would recommend allowing more than the 45 mins for this walk as you will doubtless want to stop and read the info displays and take pics, drink some water.
But it’s lovely coming right away from civilization and literally walking back in history down and up these ancient trails and enjoying the flora and fauna.
Saw many beautiful butterflies and the aquaduct/Bridge ruin is amazing.
    Enjoy!

Best beach in the area! Small, clean, clear water. We prefer to come here more than staying in Nice. Nice to start with the hike around San Jean Cap Ferrat first, then relax here

We visited the Church St Francis of Assisi in late afternoon arriving from St. Tropez. It was different universe.... We also climbed up to the top of the church. It was only EUR 1/person and the view was super cool!

My apologies to the staff for this belated review. By now, I can't remember their names. What I do remember is that we were convinced to tour this wonderful hill town and we're given more than a map but an itinerary. Many thanks!

When visiting the old city of Grimaud don t miss the crussaders church.
You have to take some steps down into a mystic dark and rather austere nave

I liked it. Having accidentally strayed on to the adjoining private beach where we were quickly ushered away from (they had one customer) we went on this beach which was just the same but less pretentious. Easy access from the main road and plenty of parking. I can imagine in the height of summer it would get rather busy (because of these reasons) but we went late summer and it was plenty hot enough for the beach and Med and not overcrowded, even on a Sunday. Great place to at least take a picnic and look across the bay to St Tropez and the boats coming and going from there.

Explored the outside of this mill whilst walking in the area recently. Never seen a windmill like this, only in photographs so was very pleased to see it. There are very commanding views where the windmill is placed. You can't actually go inside it but you can walk around the outside of it. There is an old grinding stone nearby too, huge. Well kept area by the local village because the grass was nice and short.
