Very nice museum. They have a lot of things used in movies, some more famous than others. The ground floor is amazing (The Perfume movie).
The miniatures are also very cool!
Also, I didn't expect it to be so big.

Easy access via the T1 tramway, easy to buy tickets there or online. From the outside you have spectacular architecture..We explored the temporary exhibitions first, starting with the photographic exhibition of Marc Riboud. To our tastes, this was the best of the galleries. Lunch in the rooftop cafe, very edible. Visited the permanent exhibitions after lunch. A well spent few hours

The visit is amazing. It's very interesting to see the history of cinema. Very surprised that the color and 3d movie has been invited at the beginning of 20 century.

Great museum, not only if you are into fabrics and textiles but also to get a general view on what made Lyon so rich in the 19th century. It is very small but all the relevant machinery is present. However, if I'd ever come back, I would opt for a guided tour because now, we lacked a little visualization with the machines. (Information is mostly in French, very little English)

Terrific treat for those obsessed with graphics, fonts and the International history of print. This is one of the best speciality museums I've ever visited, the 3 floors are set out well and beautifully designed, lots of printing machines, examples of graphic designs and rare printing, texts are in English as well as French.
The museum is in a 15th century former Hotel de Ville and has lots of nooks and crannies and you enter from a handsome courtyard... Great shop too, friendly staff, located on a side street off Rue du President Edouard Herriot, up from the Cordeliers metro station...from 10.30 A.M closed Mon & Tue.

Another out of the center destination is the Concept neighborhood Garnier created in the early 1920-30's. He created several of this type of city or community. Some were actually realized. The walking tour of the murals relating to Tony Garnier covers a good area so bring comfortable shoes. The read along booklet available at the Museum proper is very good. (Free w/ Lyon City Card).

Unique tiny museum two floors relying on automation of the past. Could be quite charming with a minor investment and some cleaning. Even as is, I got the idea of the charm of Guignol and wondered to make puppetry viable in this era.

While there are only two opportunities per day to visit here and it is a bit out of the way it’s worth it if you are into textiles and Lyon history. It is an old silk weavers atelier and résidence where silk piping and ribbon was made. The old looms from the late 19th century are operative and you can see the workings of a Jacard machine, the predecessor of our modern computers.
The Trip advisor listing is a bit confusing as the hours for tours here are 2 and 4 with another near by atelier for wider weavings at 3 and 5
If nothing else the weaving of a portrait of Jacard is remarkable and well worth the visit.

    Loved it.

Very nice place to go to with the kids. They have a lot of artifacts and the kids also got to go into one of the trucks.

This museum also tells you about some of the historic facts that happened around the area.

I strongly recommend the place. The price is very reasonable.

A great expérience in the world of weaving, and in particular that of still. Artistic creativity and technological innovations in unsuspected fields. Very promising !

Visited to see biennale. Large old factory used as a venue for art display- some of interest but mostly not to our taste. Not centrally sited but near confluence.

A nice fun thing to do for a few hours in Lyon. A nice range of illusions to see and helpful staff to explain and take photos.

This is an interesting museum--however, it may not be everyone's cup of tea. Some of the puppets are grotesque. But the good thing is that there is a cafe on the top floor that served yummy food.
