This magical place with great atmosphere. Cozy restaurants and cafes. You can enjoy the great view of lyon. You should try bakeries (specifically pain au chocolates) and you must go to the bouchon, special restaurants of lyon.

Very nice museum. They have a lot of things used in movies, some more famous than others. The ground floor is amazing (The Perfume movie).
The miniatures are also very cool!
Also, I didn't expect it to be so big.

The Basilica in Lyon is really worth a visit, best way is via the Fenicula railway.

The position of this historical Basilica is very imposing and dominates the area....stunning views right across Lyon to the Alps.

The architecture and freezes are both large, bold, colourful and full of history.

You have to try the funiculaire if you are visiting Lyon. We visited on a Saturday, and it was a loooong wait for the few minutes in the tram. But it was a fun experience to travel with the funiculaire, and the views from the top are spectacular!

Lots of these, many unmarked. Open during daylight, or ring a bell and ask nicely. KEEP QUIET, they go thru people's back yards. Real history! Worth getting a map to find them

Seeing it early morning in the grand light of post sunrise added a special overtone to an exceptional landmark on the Quay.

Laden with meaning and subtlety, has the upright figure rescued someone from the water. Then it turns out that the figures are identical.

So the figure is both his own liberator and rescuer but also being weighed down with the burden of self.

A superb symbol for life’s complexities and contradictions.

In one of the largest mansions in the Old Town still allowing public access is a fine home for a wide-ranging and informative account of the great city.

From its days as capital of Gaul a couple of millennia ago to modern times history is conveyed via a plethora of artefacts.

Spread across the silk industry, industry, theatre and puppetry it is an engaging account.

I had a lovely massage + facial at Belle de Maïa! The massage was very relaxing, and the facial felt very nice. The space is really beautiful & tranquil, and the staff were very kind.

Lined with eateries, attractions to visit and beautiful streetscapes hosting lovely buildings, it makes for a delightful stroll along.

Beginning at the Cathedral we took in many of the attractions during a charming amble. Les Traboules du Vieux Lyon were first up, atmospheric and definitely worth some time.

Fascinating museums included the fascinating Le Petit Musée de Guignol and absorbing Musée Cinéma et Miniature.

Musicians also featured, including a talented harpist that we rewarded. And later a jazz band that likewise was appreciated.

It costs 2 euro for a single trip, up to the Basilica in Lyon.
Trains run regularly & fantastic view from the top & an easy walk back down again.

This footbridge stood out amongst the other bridges due to its colour and design. The views on both side of the bridge are nice as well. Great spot for photos.

Speaking limited French I did not expect to understand the flow of the conversation but the slapstick comedy was nevertheless appreciated with the antics of the characters. The mastery of the puppeteers is to be commended. The show lasted 40 minutes. An adult ticket was 11.5 euros.

Very pretty Catholic church in Vieux Lyon on the Saone riverfront. Roots of the church date back to 550 -- current church was completed in 1848. Tower reaches a height of 67 meters. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see the interior -- the building was locked.

Unique tiny museum two floors relying on automation of the past. Could be quite charming with a minor investment and some cleaning. Even as is, I got the idea of the charm of Guignol and wondered to make puppetry viable in this era.
