🇬🇧: Wonderful winery guided visit with Diego, it was all really nice. I would describe our experience as dynamic, different (obviously in a good and surprising sense) and entertaining overall. This winery has much to offer and even more to learn, undoubtedly one of the best activities to do while staying around in Somontano. Would love visiting again soon!

Merci beaucoup!

🇮🇹: Ottima visita in cantina con Diego, un uomo molto gentile. È una visita troppo dinamica e divertente, con molto da offrire e ancora di più a imparare, senza dubbio una delle migliori attività da fare a Somontano. Torneremo 100%, grazie!

An interesting tour and wine tasting that we would have benefitted more from if there was information in English. But I'd recommend anyway, the guide was really friendly despite the language barrier and the fact we didn't arrive on time. Good value at 5 euros.

We went as a couple to book a 90min. tour at the bodega Laus including tasting and a small tapas snack (local ham and cheese).
Once we arrived we were welcomed by Christina the guide for our day. As it was just the two of us the tour was privately held for us. We had an amazing time and enjoyed being showed around at the entire facilities all with detailed explanation. There were no questions remaining unanswered and in the end we enjoyed 3 wines plus a complimentary Reserva for tasting.
This tour is highly recommended and we would like to thank Christina once again for taking some additional time and always going the extra mile.

    Muchas gracias Johannes and Nadia

Amazing architecture. We were driving past and spotted the amazing building. The reception person was extremely friendly and allowed us to have a good look around.
The wine shop looked fantastic u fortunately we had no room in our case to buy any.

Attended Bodegas Lalanne this weekend for a wedding!! Authentic hospitality, food and wine. Felt the staff made it their priority the wedding guests feel at home. A difference from a wedding in the US and a wedding in Barbastro is that guests can truly celebrate with the couple and make the day about the couple. US weddings feel rushed while this romantic vineyard wedding offered guests beautiful vineyard views, wine tastings and more time to celebrate!

Barbastro is a small city in Aragon, near Huesca, and has a number of sites of tourist interest and is a great place to stop if you're on your way to the Somontano wine region (nice whites!). I went to the Diocesan Museum because I saw a brochure about it in my hotel in Huesca.

Aragon, particularly the area around Huesca, was very important in its time (11th-16th centuries, I'd say), and the churches employed artists from the area and all over Europe to create beautiful altarpieces, silver work, statuary, etc. The museum has carefully chosen pieces, mostly from churches in the area that are partially or even completely closed because of the depopulation of this rural area. The museum preserves them and protects them from theft and ending up on the international stolen art market, and returns them to the tiny parishes when they need them for Holy Week or their feast days. So it's not a museum that has taken everything away from its rightful place.

If you speak Spanish, come at 11 or 5 for the guided tour, but even if you don't, the self guided tour is good and all the material is in English and Spanish. You can also visit the cathedral, which is right across the plaza.

Like all of Aragon, it has beautiful examples of Romanesque art, but there are also interesting things from later periods, including a display of the little wooden boxes containing relics and documentation that are placed in altars when a church is dedicated. Fascinating and unusual stuff, and the town is very pleasant. The center is small and the streets are narrow, so you should park your car in any of the free on-street spaces or in the parking garage and just walk around. There's a good Turismo office.

Spent 2 days parked in the lower carpark over the weekend. Steady stream of visitors but parking in upper carpark. Heavily wooded slopes.
Extremely plain but functional. Free access to chapel.
